  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anybody been able to adjust their front headrests forward? It seems like there are slotted cutouts at the bottom for it, but it wouldn't budge when I tried to adjust it forward (I didn't use a ton of force, though). There's nothing in the manual about it, but the manual isn't the most complete that I've read... Has anyone tried it? My neck will thank you, if you have, haha.

I’ve tried and mine does not move either. But maybe we’re both missing something? I wouldn’t mind a slight tilt forward if possible

I'm going to try to inspect it further tonight... I only tried to play with it at a stoplight today. Maybe there's a hidden latch or something?🤷‍♂️

The headrests in the G70 only go up and down. No forward/backward movement...or tilting.

Oh well, there goes my plan for napping while driving :p
With all these automated safety features, it's a lost opportunity!

(That was a joke. Please do not try; it is nowhere near smart enough to drive itself in any circumstance)

I had a Pontiac Grand Am GT way back and the front seats had head rest I could adjust in and out for direction and tilt as well. Only car I ever owned that I could fully adjust the head rest to suit my head position. Why manufactures stopped that is beyond me? So those features add $50 per seat to manufacturer, who cares give me a fully adjustable headrest I’ll pay for it.

Part of it COULD be safety regs. Still, I'm thinking one of my current vehicles allows that ability...I'll need to check it since I never adjust mine these days.

Funny thing is there's a video from Genesis USA about adjusting headrests for the G70, G80 and G90. 🤦‍♂️

Fail.. there are no adjustments on the G70 except for the height.

I wonder if we can get measurements from the G80 guys to see if we can swap over their headrests... not joking, my neck still hasn't gotten used to them. (I have to have my seat tilted back... 6'7")

It doesn't seem like there are any changes at the base of the unit, so as long as the slide pins are the same diameter/spacing/etc, I can't see why they wouldn't work.

Anyone wanna be the guinea pig?

I know a guy in my neighborhood who owns a G80 Sport. I could probably just ask him if we could try it.

That could work! Worst comes to worst, I can just buy some from my dealer and return them if they don't work... (I think they have a return policy? I will definitely be checking before I order)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
My measurements:
Posts are about 1/2" thick. They are 5 5/8" apart, outside to outside, or 5 1/8" apart center to center. Their bases are 1 3/4" in diameter.

Thanks a bunch for the measurements! Unfortunately, while the posts are the same diameter, it seems like our posts are spread further apart... 5 7/8", center-to-center. It was worth a try, though!

Thank you both for looking into it!

Ok, next test. Will G80 seats fit in a G70? 😆

I'm not sure I'd want to lose the bolstering :p

Nice bolsters in the Sport Sedan, and they're power adjustable.
