  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It was a very close call for me to purchase 2012 genesis 3.8 vs 2012 acura tl tech. At the end I just didn't like the design of Acura cars. I never liked the newer 'beak' looking front and back. 2012 TL made some minor front grill changes but it still looks weird. (just my personal taste). TL does have a great transmission but it requires a premium gas. Sun roof was rattling when i've test drove the car. Salesman simply covered the sunroof by sliding the roof. :) I've owned a lot of cars in the past (bmw 535, audi a4 (w/ new led lights), toyota, honda, nissan, lexus sc, ls and es, etc). My new Genesis is one of the best CAR i've ever owned. It feels more like lexus ls w/ 21st century design. I love the new LED front lights. Very Cool. No problem w/ navigation; didn't really notice a lag; no rattles. My dealership in dallas is giving me one yr free oil change. I cannot be happier w/ this car. It feels car response better everyday as I break it in. My only regret is that i didn't test drive the V8. Thank you Hyundai!!!

The 2012 Acura TL Advanced is a great car. But as an owner of 3 Acuras in a row I can tell you that each developed pretty significant rattles by 4000 miles. Not wishing it on you but just pointing out that there is no car nirvana. And you'll discover irritants like only being able to voice tag 10 numbers in the tech. Can't imagine why you'd even consider a Genny when the Acura ride is so different. Also, don't believe your rich or you'd be at a different price point. Peace.

My TL rattled from the day it left the lot. And if you're going to Acura because you don't like Hyundai transmissions, boy are you in for a surprise!

Enjoy your TL. All-in-all, it's not a bad car.

Navigation is simple to fix. Don't buy the Tech Package and get a top-of-the-line Garmin for a few hundred bucks (with lifetime quarterly map upgrades and traffic). It is not as convenient as having it ready to go without pluging in and putting up on the dash, but I don't use mine that often.

Transmission lag is common on new cars until it learns your driving habits, although there probably are some improvements that can be made to Hyundai's brand new 8-speed tranny. One of the biggest selling factors for me purchasing my 2009 Genesis V6 was the Aisin transmission. Aisin was created by Toyota (they now own about 50% of Aisin) to build RWD automatic transmissions, mostly for Lexus, but also for many other makes. It is a solid and proven design, as is the ZF tranny used previously on the V8's.

Its a stupid statement, Don't get Tech package get a Garmin. WTF, if you buy it, IT should work. You pay the extra $$ for bells and whistles, why didn't you get a corolla, then upgraded the engine, wheels, nav, leather etc..

No excuses for anything, you pay, it MUST work, its simple as that. As far " transmission Lag being common among car, NO its not common, but some makers do have it and people complain and its dangerous, read up on it my friend.

Rattles, Havnt had any, but I'd take rattle over a buggy Display and transition any day of the week.

Nose job on TL, I agree up to 2012 I hated it, on the 2012 it look actually OK.

I am not Bashing the Brand, hack I almost bought the car, I just want Admin to delete me.

There aren't any factory installed GPS's that I have seen that are good as a Garmin, even though factory installed ones can cost a few thousand, and even the decent factory installed ones charge a fortune for updates. I refuse to participate in such non-sense and greed by the automakers.

I have to ask why do you keep signing back in, and posting if you want to be deleted? It seems to me that logging off and not posting would have the same effect. In general we like to preserve content if it is not spam.
