  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is anyone else getting really tired of this Ad being in their face???

picture.php

All it reminds me of is returning from your "random drug test" with your sample.

*Points at Sal* "I told you....(hahaha)"

I understand Sal needs to get some funds to support this site but the "flashing" sponsers are annoying; not to mention it hurts the eyes.

I just pretty much ignore them. In this day and age if you let site ads bother you then you'll be miserable using the internet most of the time. I have a few other sites that have ads that really irritate me, but this isn't one of them. If it keeps the site running, I say we're fine. Maybe slow down the roll on them and it won't be quite as annoying.

I belong to another forum that gives users the option to by an annual membership which allows them to not see the ads. Obviously also provides a source of revenue to keep the site up. Might be something to consider here as membership grows? Although, the ads are not that bad on this site.. no random pop-ups in separate windows, for example.

As mentioned, the ads here aren't that bad. And considering I'm spending $2000.00 per week marketing the place, I need help. Anyone interested in a $5.00 per month premium membership with ZERO ads, send me a PM. I have a feeling, however, that no one will feel the ads are worth the five bucks...

The ads dont bother me, sites like this can get quite expensive and you have to pay the bills somehow.

They're only annoying when they flash quickly... otherwise I can live with it. But a simple click navigating away from the page helps too ;)

I don't have any problems with the ads. The sound of a "paid" membership will scare away lots of potential members no matter how small the amount it is.

That's why they make "pop-up blockers".....they work great!

Nobody will be afraid of paid memberships if they're not mandatory.

We don't do popups.

Well, at TOYOTANATION.com for a measly $12 a year I gained access to all the mods, a ton of smileys, and a small toyotanation.com decal in your choice of color for your car. Small being about 8" long and 1" tall. Perfect for the rear windows.

In fact, I have a friend in the decal business, who could make me one that says genesisowners.com in a matter of minutes. I would pay $12 for that right now! Hmmm...i may head that way after work!

The ads do not bother me at all, I just ignore them.

Here is the decal on my Camry.

SAL, I'll post a thread about this in TEAM DISCUSSIONS!

Interesting enough.... the ads don't flash anymore

But.... all for the better :)

We will definitely be doing decals.. More often than not, the ads will not flash. I don't like the flashing ones either. However, I have no control over what is displayed unless I'm informed of a flashing ad and request to have it removed...

At some point in time, we'll offer an ad-free membership with some goodies to go along with it (like vinyl stickers) and added forum options...
