  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone had experience with installing one of these units in a Gen or any other vehicle??..my performance shop they could install one in my Genesis but would be like $950 for labor, unit and custom harness..worth the money or no?

Not sure what you are trying to get out of your car by adding this unit. What year and engine does your car have?

Hey man, basically a piggy back tune is what I'm trying to achieve in the end..the shop said its possible but considering the hard to crack ecu I wanted to see what the forum had to say..my gen is a 2009 w/4.6

Well this unit doesnt seem so much of a full tuner in the since of something like Hptuners. Ive seen it used on cars with forced induction but on our cars, idk how much it would help on our cars. Plus if you plan on tuning yourself and haven't before, its quite a learning curve and no one was cracked our ecu which i wouldnt want to play with without having some known data already out there

Yes genesis is going on 6 years being in production and performance parts are almost non existent up to now. as for the FIC discussed, a performance shop here in Tampa said they could do a "piggy back" set up and work on the fuel/air ratios which said to free up some more HP. But as mentioned is $900 really worth just tweaking my fuel/air..:(

True but based on other member's comments our cars are tuned from the factory to run pig rich so definitely a lot of room for improvement.

Dang, i thought the FIC was much cheaper. Hell, good street or dyno tunes dont even cost 900. I personally dont think the price is worth what little u can tweak.
