  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2014 Black/Black base acquired 3/8/2014.
It now has 3400 miles.
Some observations.
It is an awesome looking car with front & rear wings.
It is fast for a V-6.
It will get good gas mileage if you let it. I prefer driving it. lol
It is a fairly rough riding car on city streets but a smooth highway ride.
Fairly well equipped for a base level car.
Trunk is quite small.
Front Seats are comfortable. Can't believe passenger seat is only forward & back adjustment.
Back seats are more than likely comfortable but I never get to sit in them.
Has some road noise. Came with Michelin tires.
No noticeable wind noise.
Overall a really neat vehicle.

Trunk is small? I'm not sure what car you had previously, but I find the trunk to be huge. My wife, who has an RX350, also gushes over the size of the trunk. It can hold at least 3 bodies. :)

I agree with most of your other points. Except for the rough riding on city streets. The roads in NE are terrible, and I find the ride to be very comfortable.

I concur about the trunk - it is huge for a sedan.

It may interest some to learn that the trunk of the first gen Genesis is larger than a Jaguar XJL trunk. The trunk of the '15 Genesis, however, is another matter.

warreneaux4 is apparently 76 years old. He is used to driving cars like the Ford Crown Vic, or other ancient RWD car. Those cars had enough room to easily carry four bodies in the trunk.

My old car could stow 4 bodies in the trunk. There was even a diagram to illustrate how.

The car actually came with a similar diagram to illustrate how to fit four sets of golf clubs. But the attached replacement was pretty popular.

Look what I've started...

I get Earl's point. My wife's former '09 Taurus (same body as the Five Hundred) had a 21 cu ft trunk. The latest Taurus's trunk is just a touch smaller at 20 cu ft. Those are current vehicles and the Genesis is small in the boot at 15ish cu ft versus them.

Ya, I know, but was it as fast and refined as the Gennys?

My previous car was a Lincoln Town Car. Big car, big trunk.
We have 4 2013/14 Taurus's at our company and the trunks are much roomier than mine.
Thanks for your reply though.

I'll agree about the Huge trunk on the 2014...I live in NY and the ride is rough on the roads here.

Other that that...Great Vehicle!

The '15 Sonata has a larger trunk than the Genesis. Earl's point is well taken.

It really doesn't matter what it's being compared to, unless you depend on the size of whatever you're comparing it to. And in that case, you shouldn't have purchased the vehicle in the first place.

The trunk on both are considered big.
