  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Have a look at Obdtester HiCOM. List of control units for Genesis are here. I live in Europe, but I assume Genesis models are same around the world.

I know this is an older thread but has anyone purchased this HiCom scan tool from OBDTester.com? It looks interesting especially since I am trying to program a new remote.

I don't have any experience with that product, but any ODBII tool won't help you with programming a remote fob. If you sign up for HMAservice.com you can see the shop manuals. Hyundai uses proprietary software and cables to connect their service laptops to the car to do updates and programming changes. So you won't have much luck without going to a dealer unfortunately:(

Thanks snork.
This scan tool appears to have the correct protocols for Hyundai that goes well beyond the basic OBD tools. Looking at the documentation, it seems to talk the Hyundai lingo. While I don't have unlimited funds, at ~$400 and owning 5 Hyundais I may go for it.
