So I have had my new 2012 Ultimate for one week now and very happy with the car. You can certainly feel and hear that it is not a $110,000 S-Class but I am not sure there $46,000 worth of difference! If Hyundai put another $10k in it it would be a true S-Class competitor but then they may be priced out of the market. I am a former auto engineer and a die hard car guy so if anyone from Hyundai reads this, here are a few ideas for the next gen Equus:
1. Stretch the car by one foot, all in the back seat area so Americans can actually use the leg rest in the executive seat.
2. Add blind spot warning. Even the Ford Taurus has this and its a $35k car!
3. Add wireless headphones and independent audio/video selection for the rear seat. It is silly on this level of car that when the passenger wants to watch a movie, the whole car is forced to listen to the audio. It would be nice to have the driver be able to select their own source. A shift from the limosene mentality but in the USA no one is buying this car as a limo.
4. More sound insulation from tire and road noise.
5. Higher airflow from the back seat vents.
