  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So after a few months with my g70 I'm loving it. The biggest issue I have though is the sound system. From what I can tell, it's not the advanced lexicon but the base one. So I've started looking for aftermarket speakers but crutchfield has nothing. Is there any here anyone would recommend?

I hold the opinion that replacing door speakers is usually not worth the expense. I think the best advice would be to go the best rated car audio shop in your area and see if they have any recs.

I can certainly say from my experience that adding a sub to any vehicle just makes everything sound better instantly. Here's my write up with my experience on that.

Yeah there is actually a pretty reputable one near me, ill check in with them. Thanks for the information

Seeing as the Lexicon is practically the same as Stinger's soundsystem, this is a good write-up on speakers and install instructions

Kia Stinger audio build

I've been very unimpressed by the soundsystem myself, very harsh/bright and tinny sounding and will be doing some speaker swapping myself, hopefully in the near future.

Unless you're going to drop thousands, and use DSP and aftermarket amps for all the aftermarket speakers, I'd recommend adding just a small 8 to 12" sealed subwoofer. That is much more feasible and will get your system pumping. Keep us posted what you end up doing. This is what I just did to my Lexicon system, and the it's honestly the low end/sub bass frequencies that were missing. 2024 GV70 Electric Prestige Pinout & Aftermarket Sub Install The clarity of the lexicon system is pretty solid, even at high volumes, so the 10" subwoofer with a passive radiator provides the extra low end with authority.

I wanted to add that the reason you don't want to be adding random aftermarket speakers is because these OEM systems are tuned and designed specifically for the parameters of the speaker drivers they are using. Each speaker has a crossovers point built into the amplifier so even if you swap out a speaker, there will still be limitations with whatever speaker you are hooking up. Point being, unless you rip EVERYTHING out and have an audio shop design you something from scratch, it would most likely be a downgrade in sound quality if you start swapping out misc speakers. Get that sub installed, I believe that will satisfy your needs. The reason I know this is because the car I had before this had entire aftermarket system. Each speaker had it's own amplifier, all the speaker cables were run by me through the door panels. I did not use any of OEM equipment. It sounds phenomenal, and I do miss how great it sound compared to these "high end" factory systems.
