  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

There are two emblems. One for the trunk, which fits perfectly with the holes already on the car, and one for the hood which requires modification to the emblem or to the hood of your car to install. There is a thread in the Technical section under Modifications which goes into great detail on the emblem installation process.

Most people are not installing the hood emblem, one reason being that there are no holes in the hood (as there are on the Korean version of the Genesis), and I doubt you want to drill any. The other reason is that there is no hood emblem to replace on the US version.

There are no published specs as to where the hood emblem exactly goes. So without holes in the hood, you have to cut off the tabs to install it, and it will be held in place by the double stick tape only.

From what I've seen here the majority of people ARE installing the hood emblem. The hood emblem I picked up from ebay fits perfectly - contoured exactly to the hood, goes on easily.

I'm one that put the hood badge on. I used a dremel tool (as was suggested here on the board last year) and the tape holds it VERY well. The nervous bit was positioning it level. I just put it where I wanted it. Lots of raves from the reviewing public!

I bought both emblems, took them to the dealer and let them do it. (they modified the hood emblem and told me that if I didn't like it, they could remove it with no damage to the car) They assured me, that the car looks best with both emblems. So far I'm glad I did both.

Yes the emblem is suitably curved to fit the curve of the hood, but since there are no holes in the hood, I don't think everyone is mounting it in exactly the same position (distance from the grill) and it is a little trickier to mount it perfectly centered and perfectly straight.

It would be nice if we could get some close up specs of the hood ornament on the Korean model.

Instaled both and they look great
You need to modify the front one but it is very easy and woth wile
You will enjoy
