  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was poking around on KAI's website and noticed they have a front bumper valence for sale now. I haven't seen it on here yet, so I thought I'd share the link.

It is certainly wide enough to accommodate the most extreme license plates, eh? But... do my eyes deceive me or do I see that it does not use the two most extreme holes in the bumper cover??? Why are those five template holes spaced so far apart? Another question: This appears to be a "license plate 'holder/valence'"! $395 for a license plate "bracket"???

Or am I not seeing the picture clearly enough?

$495 for a license plate holder?????

kind of pricey for just a front lip, but love it since there are not too many options out there. i just wish there was a full kit available...

It's just the lip below the normal bumper I think. Yes it is stupid expensive, but it is unique, and I like the effect. It just isn't worth the near $1000 it would cost to get the part, get it painted and installed.

Speaking for the minority, I don't like the way it looks, at least against white. It might look better on a dark car.

The car comes with a license plate holder. It is up to dealer to install it.
Note that the front bumper has small indentation holes to facilitate this
installation. I bought two Genesis, one a 2009 and the other a 2010.
On the 2009, the dealer had already installed the plate holder when I
test drove the car. On the second, I warned to dealer not to install the license
(since we don't have front license plates in my jurisdiction). The car looks "cleaner"
without the plate holder.

1. The Plate Holder shown is the holder for Asian/European style plates. American/Canadian plates use a different type holder.

2. As for the valence, it does look beautiful, but before anyone buys one, please remember that the stock front valence is already very low, and hits those curbs and tire bumpers when praking. This aftermarket valence will hit and be damaged even more than the stock.

Not really feeling the look. Looks like they are starting a aero kit, but are missing the rest of the car (side and rear). Like the earlier poster mentioned, it might not look bad on a dark colored car. Thanks for sharing!

Without the front lip, you need to be careful of those pesky parking lot concrete stops- with this add-on- I see it breaking into pieces.

Shorten it - just having the diffuser without the 2 extension lines- it would look less like an add-on piece and blend better.

FWIW, I wouldn't buy a high-ticket item from KAI. They screwed up my wife's badge shipment a few times, didn't return phone calls and e-mails after promising they'd get back to her, and then they got nasty. And then she ordered the kit directly from Korea at 1/3 of the price.

My experience with them has been good. I have ordered several items; all but one arrived as expected; there was an error with one item at the Seoul end - they corrected it quickly and with no problem. Others have reported a lot of problems: either I'm lucky or others are unlucky, I guess.

The young lady still has not returned the phone call when she would check to see about the stick on emblem for the steering wheel center. Still waiting.

I wanted to order other things also, but have changed my mind about ordering from them.

I'd buy the front lip that's on motorsportsauthority's car
how much would you price it at?
When can I order??? :D!!

is this is a custom job or will it be available for the masses? i hope it's the latter because the only thing keeping me from jumping on the genesis ship is a ground effects/body kit.

keep us updated...

This will be for the masses, manufactured by Extreme Dimensions. It won't be just the lip kit. There will be a roof wing, trunk wing, open grille, carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber trunk, and vented fenders available also. We've deviated from our rendering slightly, adding more to the side skirt and rear bumper, giving it the illusion that there is a widebody rear on it.

I estimate this to be available around Christmas or first of next year. We're making the kit for SEMA. After that, it will be sent off for mass production. No clue on the pricing since that's not something I'm setting. I'm just contracted to do the work.

thanks for the info. now i am excited. i didn't even notice the vented fenders...love it!

hopefully we can choose what we want because i don't think i could afford everything.

i didn't check if you did, but please start a separate thread on this so we can follow the progress...

I haven't yet. I've been busy with it. I definitely will. And yes, you'll be able to buy everything separately.

yikes...I just post a front lip and motorsportsauthority trumps me with an entire kit... way to steal my thunder :p

BTW: what wheels are on the car in that pic I LIKE THEM A LOT!
