  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone know if it's possible yet or have had one installed? I called Fortin Auto here in Canada to see if they are going to make a EVO By-Pass kit for the Genesis, but it doesn't look like they are going to anytime soon. The Genesis App blows for remote starting. Constantly times out, and is super slow.

One of the few gripes I have with the Car so far unfortunately.

Genesis if your listening FIX IT!!!!

They all ready have one with the Genesis app...and it works fine for most.

Its actually quite terrible, if I wanted to spend 5 minutes fiddling with a laggy slow app that sometimes starts my car, then I guess so.

But what would be convenient is to just grab the key and press the remote start button. My Nissan SUV does this and it works every time.

^ it's worked fine for me every single time...over 1 year

I'd go for that. The app works for me about 85% of the time. Saves time if I remember to open it beforehand. Sometimes it takes a long time. I've had cars with aftermarket remotes and they were good 95% of the time with less fiddling with an app. .

Pretty well documented that it works better for some than others and that it has to do with cellular service in whatever area you live in.
Works great for me at work, but even 5 minutes isn't enough to get the car started at home.

@ OP, I haven't heard of anyone getting a aftermarket remote start for the G70 yet.

I also prefer a more direct method to start the car, i'll be investigating this in depth in the coming months ahead. The app could definitely use some updates imo.

App works for me the 8-10 times I've used it. Just gotta make sure the doors are locked otherwise the command will fail.

Same, works every single time for 6 months. The app is only getting quicker and I'm logged in and starting the car in about 20 seconds at most now. I don't wait for it to "confirm", just get on with whatever i'm doing and head out shortly to a running car. Every time

A few months ago there was a string of complaints about app performance of all kinds. I have not sen a complaint here in some time. Except system down, which is not app specific.

Mine is working the same as 10 months ago. Between 30- 40 secs for starting in my house.

I find response time acceptable, albeit not as quick as the Hyundai Tucson commercial where the dude checks his vehicle status sitting on his jet ski. What I would like is the ability to turn on the rear defrost without having the heated steering come on. There are times of the year where you get a heavy dew overnight and it would be nice to be able to clear the rear window and mirrors without heating the wheel. Would also like to enable seat heat but don't think that's in the cards. That said, there's way more flexibility here than is available with a fob-based remote start.

Lately I've been using the remote start widget. Don't even need to login - just press start on the widget, enter my PIN - done. Seems like it has gotten a bit quicker both sending the request, and responding to the request over the last few months as well.

All of that being said, I do think an aftermarket remote start would be nice, primarily after my 3 years of free service runs out.

Toddasaurus,
I'm in the US; where do I find this "remote start widget" of which you speak (type)?
Enjoy,

On iPhone...only widget they have is to send POI to the car :( Bummer.

Beefer,

How do I get to the Genesis "send POI" widget on my iPhone?
Enjoy,

Add the Genesis widget from the “Edit” on the widget screen.

Or...do a hover press on the Genesis App icon...and select Add Widget from the context menu.

Wow! That is convenient ^ Thank you!
