Figured id post this for anyone who wants to make the car feel sportier but doesn’t want to change the ride quality in a negative way.

I Got a aftermarket sway bar from ultra racing, got it put in recently and was surprised how much of a difference it made a in handling. The car turns and handles corners significantly better now with very little body roll compared to stock. Car feels much more stable and planted when doing turns and when zipping around back roads lol. The best part is my car doesn’t ride any rougher at all like if you where to lower it etc.

I was surprised how cheaply made the stock sway bar seemed also. it was very lightweight and flexible almost like its made from cheap hollow aluminum tubing. When i had it out of the car on the ground i could put a little weight on it with my foot the stock sway bar would bend and flex easily.

Almost $300 but well worth it imo, highly recommend this mod. Took a while to ship but I guess thats the price you gotta pay when the aftermarket is so limited.

what engine do you have?

Stiffening up rear body roll will help the front of the car turn better but any advantage gained there is lost in the rear. Everything's a trade-off when it comes to vehicle dynamics. You might find the rear stepping out where it wasn't an issue before the change. I'm surprised a stiffer bar is even available for the Genesis. Somewhat of a tank to be hot rodding 'round corners. OTOH... it's one of the reasons I considered the car as it impressed me with its grip on on and off ramps.

I have this on wish list and may buy one soon as well for my 2015 5.0 Ultimate. I do notice that my car does have some undesired body roll when doing some high-speed cornering which hopefully a stiffer rear bar can fix. Not bad, but noticeable compared to some other cars I owned.

I have used UR racing strut bars with much success on other cars. I just hate the bars are always white.
My old 2014 Buick Lacrosse with active suspension with a UR strut bar; handles almost as good as my 2015 Genesis with the UR bar.

Wait, the UR strut bar fits the 5.0??!! I wanted to get that but it said its only for the 3.8. So just to confirm you have a strut bar on the 15 5.0?

No, the 5.0 has front strut braces already, no need for stiffer ones or an additional strut brace bar. I have used UR strut tower bars on my FWD cars(2014 KIA Optima 2.0T and 2014 Buick Lacrosse 3.6) that did not have a stock brace with much success since the strut bars help keep the front tires planted around turns and in a straight line.

I will buy a UR rear sway bar for the 2015 5.0 Genesis, however UR does make a stiffer front chassis strut brace to replace the stock brace bars. I do not know if it will fit a 5.0 since the 5.0 has a center air box section that may block it.

Do not look like it would fit a 5.0 model.

Ahh okay i see what you’re saying now. Your right though it doesn’t look like it will fit.
I was looking under the hood and discovered that plastic piece on the intake tubes that has the hyundai logo actually doesn’t serve a purpose other then looks, i took it off and now theres much more room. Its Litterally just a plastic shell cover for the tubes with the logo. Little weight reduction lol.

I may actually be able to fit that bar strut bar though after i was looking at the pictures. I might pull the trigger and order it and see if i can get it in, it looks like it’d have enough clearance with that intake cover removed now. If it doesn’t fit then oh well ill just send it back.

Should work better then the stock strut braces since it actually bridges the two together rather then just connecting the corners of the subframe or whatever.

Will report back

Pics please. What did you use as a hose connector for the two intake ducts that goes into the throttle-body in place of the stock center section?

I think you misunderstood what i was trying to say, the stock tubes are still there, i just removed that ugly hyundai plastic shell over it, i took some pics so it would make sense. Everything intake wise is still hooked up as it was from the factory including that hose you where talking about ( crankcase vent hose).

In the second picture, where i drew that arrow, that is where aftermarket the strut bar connects across to the other side, and it looks like it would fit, even if it didn’t that intake tubing is flexible so i could probably just push it down about half an inch so the bar will clear the tubes.

I haven’t ordered it yet but I’m going too soon and ill let you know if it fits / how much it helps

I did not know that the ugly cover with the Hyundai logo could be removed off the intake center piece. I thought it was a singe unit. I will be taking my cover off today!!!

How did you remove it?

Man its been a long time since i took it off but if I remember correctly the red clips have to be unhooked and you pry it off

Thank you. Sound like a good start. I will try that method.

I decided to just keep the air intake cover and just remove the Hyundai logo with some fishing line. The cover is not that bad looking and actually looks nice without the Hyundai logo. I may replace the Hyundai logo with a small Genesis logo later. I am not buying the UR strut bar so no need to try to make space for it.

i was also thinking the same thing. I was looking at the genesis coupe badges they look like they would fill the space.

Do they give the dimensions?
I do not know about the set I first posted, but these that I like better are 60mmX30mm(2.36inx1.18mm); which may work. I have not measured yet.
