  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am a new Genesis owner and noticed something very odd with my Genesis 4.6 V8. When I start up my A/C on a typical 100 degree Texas day, the front vents of the car blows ice cold cold air, BUT the rear vents blow nothing but scorching hot air.

Why does this happen? Is this some stupid way for the car to reach a balanced temp? Does this happen with anyone else's car? My poor daughter is melting in the back seat while I drive in comfort up front.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but did you make sure the rear vents are adjusted to blow cool air (the sliding wheel on the left should be turned all the way down toward the blue dot and the one on the right should be all the way up so that it blows the cool air out).

Thanks! I never even knew that there was a hot cold adjustment dial in the back seat. I was attending to their complaints while I was driving and never took a look at the back seat.

My tech challenged wife and 5 y.o. daughter did not think or no about the temp dial. Thanks so much!

That adjustment on the left side (cold down), sometimes goes up by itself. Mine was doing that, so what I did was to "jam" a small piece of cardboard next to the adjuster, to make sure it stays in the down cold position. If the cardboard is small enough, it can't been seen. Makes more friction to keep the adjuster from going up by itself.

Next service visit I would get that checked out, shouldn't move on its own.

My kids love playing with the dials, I wish there was a lock out like in the Wife's Honda.
