  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 1st mistake. I did not buy a Genesis with are cooled seats. I had them on my Lincoln and now miss them in Miami.

Question.

Beside the seat fans and control switch, has anyone installed factory air cooled seat parts yet?

I hoping I'm not the only one who would like this upgrade. I'm a DIY guy and loves to play.

You aren't missing much. They are only ventilated, not cooled. I took mine in to get them checked because they weren't cooling and were told that it was normal function as they are only meant to ventilate, not cool.

I have found though that when the ac is on, it moves the cooled air through the seats too if their ventilation system is on. Just too bad they aren't stand-alone.

I'm happy with my ventilated seats. I always have the A/C on when the ventilated seats are cooling and they cool very well.

They work especially well if you have been parked in the shade vs the sun. I have beige interior but I can only imagine if you have black interior and were parked in the sun, it would a long time before you start to feel the cooling effect.

The Hyundai ventilated seats work so much better than Lexus, Toyota, or Mercedes.

They work great for general FL heat, and seem to make long trips less tiring. In my mind, they are not optional.

Mine work quite well here in Texas. It feels like they've got cold air.

Beige interior and tinted windows certainly help too around here from early May to October. I also leave the rear window and rear side shades up when parked uncovered at work or shopping during the day.

The only reason I'm considering buying BlueLink is to be able to remote start and cool the car down a bit this time of year. I wish that you could activate the cooled seats that way as well.

I automated my cooled seats so they turn on when the car starts. I can also set it for the heated seats to turn on or neither. I only automated the driver's seat, but I could easily add the passenger's seat.

How? Could you please explain how you did that? Im interested, leaving in South Florida this is a must.

Agreed. I can't imagine that it would be hot enough that I would want the seats cooled but not the rest of the interior of the car. They cool very well in conjunction with the AC by circulating cooled air.

I have the black interior, and as long as you open the windows to vent the interior after the car has been baking in the sun, the cooling happens reasonably quickly.

My first time having this feature so I can't compare to other brands but I am very happy with how it works on hot, sticky days. Glad I have it.

It uses several small timer circuits that i purchased. The first circuit is a start delay because the cooled seats cannot be activated unitl a few seconds after starting. The second timer is equivalant of pushing the cooled seat button. This timer can only be engaged for a coupe of seconds. If the switch is held too long (timer engaged too long) the cooled seats will turn on, then turn off (try holding the cooled seat button too long and it will do the same thing). I will be happy to email the wiring to anyone who is interested.

I used a similiar design to raise the rear sunshade when the car is shut off and lower it when it is started.

between my front windshield shade and the tint, my car cools off so damn fast I find i rarely use the ass coolers, but when I do they get SO cold I have to turn them off to be comfy. Of course we haven't had a truly hot day yet (106F+) this year, so if we get a real burner up over 110+ I will be interested to see if I keep em on.
