Note the use of plura as there are two air filters. The common most filter is the large flat filter in the airbox. This filter is used by all first generation Equus and Genesis - even the V6. Its part number is 28113-3M100. K&N makes a replacement for this filter.
The second filter is much smaller and yet very important. It fits just inside the top of the radiator, and provides a direct airflow into the intake manifold. It is unique to the Equus and all 5.0 liter Genesis. This filter is often overlooked by dealers doing routine service and may not be in stock. Its part number is 28113-3M500. K&N does not have a replacement/equivalent for this filter. This filter is "protected" by a removable flap that is designed to open only at wide open throttle. This flap is easily removed, but if you do so then change the filter more often.
I plan on contacting K&N to see if they will make a replacement for this small filter. If not I will "kit-bash" a K&N filter element into the OEM filter frame. More on this later.
