  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know how to keep the air recirculation button to stay on when climate is off? It turns off automatically 3-4 mins after pressing it. And yes, I have auto dehumidify & smart ventilation turned off.

I'm not sure why you would turn off all the automatic settings - I have no issues with everything on auto. Most vehicles won't keep recirculation on long-term because it's not good for the occupants. Too much CO2. Of course, with all the wildfires around these days, smoke intake isn't awesome either. ;)

Not what I asked & sometime I don't want air directed at me when it's nice out and I have the sunroof open (i.e. no CO2 issues). If the recirculation button is off & climate is off, you get warm air coming into the cabin from the engine bay.

It does not come from the engine bay. Think about what that would be like. It comes from the base of the windshield. It's warm because even though you turned the climate control off, it is still heating (via the heater core) as much as needed to try and get to the last temperature that you set. Set the temperature to the minimum possible before turning it off, and it shouldn't heat the air the blows through.

(Personally, I just leave it all auto and set to the temperature that I want, no matter if any of the windows are open or not.)

I'm thinking when the climate is off, it just opens a path with natural circulation. Think how cars were before AC was readily available. Leave the climate on and just close the vent blowing on you.

In other words, you don't know why the recirculation doesn't stay off. Got it. Thanks

Closing the vents doesn't prevent warm air from blowing through the bottom vents.

I do in fact. As was pointed out, it's an air quality / safety thing. I'm not sure why an explanation of how it works bothers you.

lol I’m just here with my popcorn reading these comments lol. So I’m in Florida and it smells so we keep having to turn it on as well. It sucks. Hope they fix it

I have also been bothered by the recirc turning off when remote climate start is used. I just found this and will be giving it a try when I next take a drive:

"In the 2026 Genesis GV70 (and other Genesis models), the recirculation button might turn off automatically because the system uses "Smart Recirculation" to adjust for efficiency or prevent fogging, but you can often override this by pressing and holding the recirculation button until it beeps to lock it on, or by checking the infotainment settings for "Automatic Air Quality Control" to disable it, as the system is designed to sometimes manage it"
