If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

all-weather mats for 2009 sedan

I got my Novline mats today. Installed them right away. They are great.

Thanks to NJTom again.

Based on the pics I'd second the Novline mats--and I have Weathertechs. I bought them immediately after buying the car because I wanted to protect the pristine carpets, and I thought they were the best, but I can't say that after owning them. The front mats don't hold that much slop, and they simply won't stay on the factory stud/hooks. I called Weathertech and they were no help at all ('try pressing the grommet down harder' was suggested). What good is a 1 year warranty when you won't stand behind it? They fix the price so that their vendors can't discount the product below a certain amount, they won't help a customer when the product fails, and they spend 4 pages each month in Car and Driver crowing about how much they care about America. Right. Charge big bucks and leave the customer with a product that doesn't do what its intended--no wonder we choose to spend our money elsewhere. Did I mention the rear mats have all curled in and since they don't even try to utilize the factory retaining stud they slide under the front seats? Don't give your money to David McNeil--try something else.

This is not even close to my experience with WeatherTech. It is now my second winter with my WeatherTech mats on the Genny and they make my current Volvo and former BMW OEM mats look like they were made by Mattel.

3 months in, Hyundai OEM All weather mats have been holding up great even with all the MN snow and slush. BTW, OEM Hyundai all weather mats are made by WeatherTech in US.

I was looking at the pictures of the Novline mats. It appears as though the rear mat retention holes leave exposed carpet? Am I seeing that correctly?

I am wondering if you bought something other than their DigitalFit mats. Hyundai did change from a 2 post to 1 post retention design on the driver's front in 2012. Further, I am unclear as to why you state they "price fix." Most manufacturers have M.A.P. pricing, and WeatherTech is no different in this regard. You have plenty of buying options: WeatherTech's own site, other e-tailers, or a local retailer.

I concur. I have never had anything but postive experiences with WeatherTech mats, and will continue to do business with them.

Not really. Novline mats come with four sets (one set for each mat) of two plastic rings that clip into each other through the whole in the mat. You need to cut whole in the mat yourself. NJTom probably didn't do it for his rear mats.

The mats I bought are the digital-fit mats. You may call it MAP pricing, but when you have a coupon for a store to buy a product and they tell you they won't honor that coupon because they're prohibited from lowering the price on that product by the vendor, I call that price fixing. My 2009 has a single post on the driver's side and the Weathertech mat just keeps popping off of it. It appears that the grommet that is supposed to lock onto the carpet stud is broken. As I stated before, a call to their factory yielded no help. I believe you get what you pay for. I shopped for the best price and bought what I thought was the best product, but my experience is that it does not live up to its claims and the company won't correct the problem. The fact that the owner is more than just a little smug in his advertising only adds to my frustration.

You appear to have a legitimate reason to not be a Weathertech customer in the future. Others here have legitimate reasons to stick with Weathertech.

Good luck.

I can understand your frustration, and you have peaked my curiousity. If I may ask; was the coupon from the store directly, and for WeatherTech product specifically?

Ah ok, that makes sense. So, the clips are more like the picture of the front?

I agree, my experience may not be typical and I'm happy to hear that others have only positive things to report based on their results. My opinion was offered as consideration to others who may be deciding which mats to buy, and personal annoyances aside, it is no more or less than just my opinion. The coupon I wanted to use was an online store coupon for 10% off, but it was turned down because it would have dropped the price below a minimum set by WeatherTech. After considering all things including shipping costs, purchasing directly from WeatherTech was the most cost effective.

In fairness to WeatherTech, this whole thread made me look into why these mats won't stay on the factory studs and I found that they're guaranteed for 3 years. Another call to customer service has yielded a different result and new grommets are on their way out to me. I'll reserve judgement on whether or not they fix this issue until I receive them, but I'm pleased that they are standing behind their product, which is a reasonable expectation.

The front mat (driver's side) was the first one I installed and went through the process of cutting the mat and using the supplied grommet. But after going through that process, I decided that for the remaining mats, to line up the mat up with the nub on the floor and cut away a small section. This way it gives a snug fit and no chance to move around. Plus, less chance for the liquid to seep to the carpet.
I hope this helps explain a little in the pictures.

Hopefully it works out for you. I too have an 09 and bought the digital-fit mats. I have to say the grommet fits/grips as good as the factory carpeted maps.

I also have the Weathertech digitfit mats. They fit well, hooked up well, and look nice (tailored).

Anyone know where to look for Novline trunk liner? Not having much luck unless I want an order of 100.
Thanks.
