  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, I'm fairly new here on this board. Currently driving a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T quattro, and I have been looking for my next car deal. I went to test drive several different options, 328xi, G37X, TSX, TL, GS350. IS250, but none of them really impressed me that much. I finally pulled the idea of getting a Genesis back from the back of my head, and I went for a test drive on a 09 3.8 prem, tech, and nav. I loved it!

Here is the current situation for the one I am interested: 2009 3.8, White satin pearl on Black int., 21.5k miles, I have negotiated the OTD to $30.4k.

Do you guys think it is a good deal? Thank you!

Great vehicle...I have one !;)

I think it is too high for a 2009 V6. You should be able to find a 2010 V6 or V8 for 31000 with all options. The later tech models have the adaptive cruise control which is a great option to have on a trip or long highway daily commute.

I would suggest searching this site a for a bit more information. $30k for an '09 Nontech? It seems a bit high...

we paid 30K for a 2010 4.6 with 12K miles.

I agree with HOS, it looks high. But I don't know what OTD includes. Taxes? Anything else? Or to put it another way, what's the price of the car?

FYI, my '09 V8 with Tech just sold for $28K, 17,000 miles.

I'm with Homeofstone. Much too high. Now if you really love the car, then you will need to decide what it's worth to you, but I paid 31.5 for a 2009 untitled demo premium plus with 5200 miles almost two years ago. I would think somewhere in the 28s would be more reasonable for a truly used one. Just my two cents.

09 + 3.8 + Tech + Certified + 20,000 = under $28,000... recommend keep looking.

Believe me, I know the deals are out there for the right price.

The price does seem a bit high to me too. I have a 09 3.8 , no tech/nav and I paid 27,995 about a year ago. It was untitled with 1200 miles on it. I think KBB says around 28,000 right now for the one your looking at.

And that may be what he/she is paying for this one. Who knows what OTD includes? Taxes, extended warranty, free washes?
Without the purchase price we're really just speculating here.

Regardless, if a V8 Tech can be had for $28K this is likely too much.

Didn't someone on here recently pick up a brand new 2011 3.8 Tech for $31-$32k? That's shiny and nice-smelly, with a pristine 10yr/100k mi warranty slapped on the window.

Just saying... and good point, we don't know what else is included. But if that's the car price, I say keep looking.

Here in Florida, nearby where I live-- '09 3.8 19600 miles, advertised for $25,985
'09 4.6 Tech pkg. 14000 miles, $30,900 in Alabama

Thank you for all the replies!
To clarify the price detail, it's a 09 tech with 21.5k miles and $30.4k OTD covers tas, title, registration, license, fees, so 30400 is the final out of pocket price not a dollar more on top of it.

Spend 1500.00 more and get a 2010 tech. pkg. or Get the one you have looked at but I would offer no more than 28,000 drive out.

You still aren't telling us your purchase price so how can we answer your question?

After taking out TTL and all the dealer fees, the purchase price for the vehicle alone would be around $27,500

For what its worth we purchased a 09 3.8 with premium pkg in Feb. 25k asking price was 22,999.00. I live in Ne and we purchased the 3.8 from Ken Garff Hyundai in Salt Lake City. The car is immaculate inside and out.
