  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone tried 275/40R18 instead of 245/45R18 ?
I don’t know how wide it will be or if it is going to rub against fender liner on turning.
Please share some experience. Thanks in advance

I'm running staggered 19s at 255/40ZR19 front and 285/35ZR19 rear. No rubbing.

I don't think the 18 inch wheels can run a 275. Probably 255 max width.

The sidewall curl may be too extreme putting a 275 on an 8 inch wide wheel. That's nearly 3 inches of overhang.

It may also throw off your alignment. 30mm is a huge change in width.

I did this with my old infiniti g37. The 275/40r18 is technically too wide for the wheel. The minimum rim with is 18x8.5. The stock 18x8 is about 1/2 inch too small. I still did it, worst issue I noticed was some radial roll when turning fast. But the car never misshandled or felt like it was going to lose control. BUT the g37 is also a lighter car, as in weight. No change in alignment either.. lol..
