  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This was driving me crazy:

I had to take it apart and paint:

Anyone else paint the caliper, bracket and rotor?

I painted mine too.

No, you're not OCD. Or, maybe we're both OCD. It's on my list of things to do. I do it on most of my cars. Adds a nice touch to the appearance.

I did the same thing on my Genesis Coupe just a couple month ago. IMHO the entire car looks a lot better for it.

Just did it when installing new front rotors and pads on my Azera. Neighbor looked at me like I was nuts while twirling the taped-off rotor on a string, hanging from the handle of the open garage door and shooting it with black engine paint. lol :)

First thing I did, when I got my car, was to paint the rear calipers black, to match the fronts, but I never thought to paint the hubs. I forgot that they'll get rusty in two or three years.
Oh well, next time I rotate tires.

I think doing this made the car look all that much sharper. It's not drastic but does look very good. I just wish I could get rid of the rust on the actual rotors- when I drive it wears off but overnight it comes back

Nope, you're not OCD because the rust looks like crap. Been meaning to do something about this myself as well.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
This is the first thing I noticed as well when I bought mine. I think the calipers are pretty big in the front especially so the rust/dirt is that much more visible.

On my other car I used POR 15 on the rotors (part that the pads don't touch) right over the surface rust just to see if it really was that good, and months later no rust came back, so it definitely works.

Has anyone used red caliper paint on their Genesis sedan or do you find black looks fine? And would the fake Brembo covers look douchey?

I'll let you think about this for a moment.... reading it again might also answer your question. :)

Not sure he was joking or how they look with the wheels on lol but they're all over eBay if you search for calipers.

You realize the one in his picture is real, right?
