  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I just noticed this - after a year of driving the car - the ambient lighting, in the interior door trim, sunroof interior trim, etc., stays on all the time?? Never noticed before! yes / no??

Sunroof turns off when the shade is open.

Thanks both! Never noticed before. BTW, my sunroof lights stay on when shades are open and closed. All ambient lighting is on all the time…..

Maybe the lights go back on when the shade is fully retracted? I just know they go off when the shade is about an inch away from the start. I never thought to check when it was fully retracted. I was trying to find the switch or sensor to see if I could manually activate the lights. Shade was always mid travel when I was putzing with it. Will double check to make sure I am didn’t miss that detail.

I am guessing the light on with the shade open will cause too much reflection. Mine goes off and stays off when the sunroof shade starts to open.

Mine as well. That makes sense about the reflection and diffusion of light at night.
