If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Android Auto available in Canada with map update V10

You are right I can see it on desktop. Not certain I want to spend the 235usd to find out if it is true or not.

Perhaps we can return if it doesn't have the advertised feature. I haven't read the return policy on this though. There is a risk being early adopter.

Yea it claims to add Siri eyes free. But my Genesis had that from factory.

Yes, that feature has been there as new in last 3 updates. I compared with ultimate package in Canada and it doesn't offer AA in v10. Comparing with v10 features in US website confirms presence of both AA and Apple CP. The whole thing looks legitimate. I just don't understand why Hyundai would deny it initially. Could it be that they wanted to charge a free in Canada instead fee update. But then they should have said so upfront.

after speaking with the lady she said it does have android auto in the update for our Canadian genesis. Also apple car play will be added in 10.5 which will be released in late December. I showed her that Hyundai Canada released a statement saying we wont be getting either updates for 2015-2016 models and the official hyundai website claims android auto is only available in the 2017 Elantra. she checked the website out and told me to hold of on purchasing the update until she gets confirmation from the higher ups. she sent out and email to her superiors and said she wont hear anything back until monday the earliest and will email me with what she discovered. in the end i personally want Apple Car play since my main device is an iphone. so i will be waiting until christmas to get 10.5 because i cannot justify paying $300 twice in six months for both platforms.

Thanks for the info. I have android phone so I ordered the update. Will keep you posted how it goes. The annoying part is that they have to ship the SD card and there is no download option.

i appreciate you taking the leap of faith for the rest of us. i hope it works out for all our sakes.

I'm not sure why they think it's a good idea to itemize the map software separately from the SD card when you have no other choice but to order the physical card. Demanding $50USD for a $5USD card feels like a kick to groin. I'd be happier not knowing how much money I wasted on an an unnecessary card and the privilege to wait several days for its arrival.

I had the same feeling as you when I ordered mine today. $50 for a $5 SD card is ridiculous.

I had a live chat with an agent in Mnsoft, the company making and selling the map updates, asking simple question of availability of AA for my car. Not sure if it was a bot or real agent.
They asked me to contact Hyundai directly and ask about compatibility for specific models. When I reminded them that they are the ones making and selling the products and should be able to answer this, he (it?) insisted I have to contact Hyundai.

I am not going to waste my time with ill-informed (sometimes rude) representatives while I am paying premium for a product. I will wait for my SD to arrive and will return it if it doesn't have AA.

I still haven't received confirmation email from the rep i spoke with on the weekend. So let's hope you get android auto and if not then hopefully you are able to return the item successfully since you purchased it under false pretenses.

My order is processed now and they assigned a tracking number.
Regardless of the outcome, the whole AA business and it is handled is annoying. We shouldn't be going through all of this in this market segment and price range, or any segment for that matter.

I just got a call back from the mapping company. The lady said android auto and carplay is only for the tuscon and elantra 2016/2017 model year. And that is the reason they put the Hyundaicanada link to android auto on the info section so that consumers are aware if there vehicle is supported. I really hope that isn't the case though. Because carplay will make using my iPhone as a music player bearable and not having to have my Playlist unshuffle every time I turn the car on.

How hard is it for a software company, mnsoft, to remove android auto as added features in 2015 Genesis touch only webpage? They ask car model and year before getting to that page for a reason, one would suppose. Poor business practice.

On an unrelated note(!), I am test driving a Jaguar F-pace next week.

They have updated the page showing only 2 models supporting AA. Genesis is not one of them.

I received communication from Mnsoft (more than a week after I contacted them) confirming that it won't add AA to Canadian Genesis, suggesting to return the package for a refund. Now the question is if it is worth adding 3D birdview for more than 300 Canadian dollar. Has anyone tried this new map update?
