  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I wrote to Miles Johnson at Hyundai about whether we will ever get the Android Auto update and received the following response:

Michael,

Good morning.

Can you please do me a favor and post the following statement on the Genesis forum.

Due to hardware differences, CarPlay and Android Auto will not be offered for 2015 or 2016 Genesis with the Premium Driver Information System (DIS) Navigation system (system included in the Ultimate Package).

Thanks,
Miles

I wrote back and told him he was goinf to have a LOT of pissed off Genesis owners and maybe it was time to take another look at Lexus!

Sorry, guys and gals

There's already a 4-page (and counting) thread on this. Personally, I couldn't care less that Hyundai won't be including a feature they never promised to include, and that I have zero interest in. But some people are righteously miffed. Happy I'm not one of them.

Taking another look at Lexus will come up empty handed if needing CarPlay. They do not support CarPlay or AA as far as I know.

So some people are willing to pay a lot more for a car that have these features.....???
Me think it... they need to get a life and learn how to drive a car instead of playing with the electronics :-)

Ask Mikes to get some stones and post that info here himself.

I cannot figure out some of the thinking here. You buy a car and then want them to include something 2 years after the purchase which is just becoming main stream today. This is just not going to happen or IF it did, you would be actually pretty darn lucky. If you want this tech you will need to buy a 2018 just like everyone else. End of story.

Amen.

Ahhhh the fresh sound of reason. It’s always a welcome one here. I like it. ;)

I'm happy I'm getting it, and all I paid was 37k for the 2016 with Signature Package only. If you have enough money for the V8 Ultimate, you can probably eat the loss and just trade it in for the 2017 or 2018.

You don't have it yet. Who would trade in an Ultimate V8 for a loss just to get a piece of tech? No one. I think this CP & AA thing is being placed on a pretty high pedestal, for something yet unseen on this car that will also likely be superseded by newer tech soon enough.

i didn't say i had it, i said i'm getting it. and who would trade? apparently all the people bitching. all i want is for google maps to be displayed on the nav screen so i dont have to keep looking down at my phone in my cupholder.

i wonder if they can do it or they just don't want to pay the money to do it and by the away the dealer told when i was buying my car they were working on carplay and android

And I was suggesting sarcastically, based on the over two years of hearing about it right around the corner, you a'int got it yet....

No-one with as much as half a brain, anyway.
