  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
I have a 2016 genesis ultimate. I am very disappointed that I an unable to get android auto. At this point maybe we should flood their Twitter account with requests for the update. Especially since its only unavailable because of the jogwheel.

??? Note that there are ample threads about AA you could post your thoughts in vs. creating new thread.

It is not the jog wheel, it is the head unit that is not compatible. No matter how many people flood their twitter account you still won't be able to play your Betamax tapes in a VHS machine. No matter how much you wish it won't happen.

Mazada and Alfa all use a jogwheel to control AA - that isn't the limitation as Ed says.

I feel with all the technology available there is no excuse for them not to have some sort of work around.

Very brave of you to say considering you know nothing of the basis of the problem. Just go ahead and replace your head unit to one that supports AA, there is your workaround. I just feel that for someone who will take no excuses, money should be no object.

It is not about feeling, it is about profit. with enough time and money we can put a man on the moon so we could probably put AA in your car somehow. It is not a simple matter of writing a little code. it is also adding or changing hardware.

How much are you willing to pay? $50? $100? $1000? The money has to come from someplace. The Genesis Ultimate has a limited number of owners. Not al want AA and would be willing to pay for it. If you ran Genesis, how much would you be willing to spend on a four year old car with minimal interest?

Rather that attack a twitter account, why not give them a well reasoned plan to develop AA technology for small and declining market along with cost estimates, Gantt chart and ROI numbers. I bet they will listen to you and get it started.

Don't blame Hyundai, blame LG. I think they were the ones that made the head units in the Ultimate. I'd have to check some reference sheets I have at work to confirm that, but I think it was LG.
