  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What are the Genesis reasons why I should choose one over the other when I get my new phone very soon? :confused:

iPhone:
* Bluetooth streaming will work
* Plugged-in integration for playing music
* Bluetooth hands-free will work

Andriod
* Bluetooth streaming will probably work
* Bluetooth hands-free may not work, depending on phone model
* Standard aux music streaming (no integration)

Thanks for the great info!

Anybody else have any thoughts?

Siri works great, just press and hold the voice command button on the steering wheel and siri comes alive. Ask her to call/text someone or read your messages etc. One of my favorite features so far...

I'm considering moving to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge but here are my 2 cents.

Get an iPhone if:
- You do a lot of texting and plan to use Siri-enabled features in the car.
- You plan to plug your phone in and want to take advantage of music integration.
- Are already a part of the Apple ecosystem
- Like a simple and consistent experience

Get an Android if:
- You plan to stream via Bluetooth (way more options in music players and options)
- Are already a part of the Google/Android ecosystem
- Like choice and options in your phone's hardware and customization.

Bottom line is an iPhone is much better supported on the Genesis. For me and my wife, in spite of putting 16K miles on the car in 8 months, we spend way more time using our phones outside the car than in and Android simply offers more flexibility and choice than Apple and iOS. Hard to believe we were diehard iPhone fans for a long time but switched to Android and couldn't see ourselves going back. My wife just got an iPhone 6 from work and doesn't care much for it.

Here are 3 of the 4 suspects we have paired with our car.
iPhone 6, Galaxy Note 3 and LG G3. Not shown is my wife's Note 3.

I have a Nexus 6 and it works perfectly in my 2015 3.8. It streams BT well, BT calling works flawlessly, I can connect to the USB jack and play music as well. My daughter has an iphone and it works flawlessly as well. In the end, the phone you should buy is based on your own personal preferences. I prefer Android. As for Hyundai, they did a much better job this time around with their radio interface than the previous generation, so you can't really go wrong.

Nice to see a tame discussion here over iPhone vs. Android.

Usually, a question like this leads to the usual Apple or Android bashing from each cmap, when as others here have detailed so well here, its a personal decision with some small differences noted.
