  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I think I hit a bad pot hole or something....there's the most annoying sound coming from the passenger side dash board...like styrofoam rubbing on each other or something....

This isn't a quick fix is it? They'll probably have to take the entire thing apart to fix it...

How many hours would you guys guess?

Reason I am asking is that in a month or two I go in for an oil change and also I am going to have them fix a radio issue - I don't get AM at all - not the biggest problem of course but I want it.

What would you guys do?

I've tried slapping the dashboard, applying pressure while someone else drives it etc....can't figure out the source...

it may be a loose panel where the door and the dash meet. try applying some pressure to the door panel. also check the glove box as one of the holder clips may have shifted.

if they are lexus, they only fix rattles and squeaks for the first 90 days.

Shooting in the dark, but I had a similar noise coming from the passenger side windshield. Passenger side A pillar trim was contacting the windshield when there was concern vibrations from the road. While you hear the noise, I would have a passenger put his/her hands on the A pillar trim piece to see if that stops the noise.

Your noise can be from a completely different source, but it's worth a try since I experienced same type of noise....

Get a bit of silicone lube and hit the area where the panels touch (A pillar to door, door to dash, A pillar to dash, etc.).
