  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone here have some annoying rattles in their Genny? I'm dealing with this stupid dashboard "rattle" or "crack" noise when I hit bumps. It's somewhere in the dashboard - sort of in the area like front dashboard near the vents in the very front.

There's also a really annoying clunk coming from the back near the sunscreen. Does anyone here have a fix for that?

Otherwise the car has been great. Reporting back in after buying with like 24k miles, I'm at 98k miles now and no other issues have happened.

For the rear, remove the upper truck liner under the rear deck and check the trunk spring mounts/bushing and the speakers/sub and motor/mount/regulator assembly for the rear screen. Not the easiest to get at, but it's probably where you issue is as there's not much else back there. Also first check the battery hold downs, spare, jack and related hardware just in case (always check the easiest stuff first!).

The dash could be anything. No easy solution there short of dash removal, inspection, removing any objects that fell through the cracks/vents, addressing loose/missing fasteners, replacing or jbwelding parts with broken tabs from prior dash removal work, stuffing foam into broken/loose/warped bits, etc. Easier fixes: you can get at the modules and their brackets for loose/missing fasteners on both sides of the lower dash after you remove the lower panels. Also check steering column mount and pedal brackets. The easiest fix for dash rattles: turn up the radio.
