  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Another Happy New Owner Here

Purchased my 2019 G70 3.3T Sport AWD in Casablanca White. I have to say that I love it. Prior cars: 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe (loved it for over 220k miles), 2013 MB C300 (With Kleemann tune - liked it until the transmission was staring to go) and the car I just traded: a 2017 Majestic White Infiniti Q60 3.0T Premium with an Ecutek tune bringing the hp to 408 and the TQ to 460 on a dyno. The Q60 with tune ran 4.37 0-60.

Some thoughts... This car, although not as fast as the Q60, FEELS faster to my butt dyno. There is no turbo lag and there is very efficient gearing and transmission shifting. In the Q, there was inconsistent power that never felt as smooth as this G70. In the Q, when you pounded it, it flew. Otherwise, it was laggy. The G70, in sport mode, just GOES and keeps going. Handling is on par with the Q for sure. The cabin is much quieter and the suspension is a hair better. The stereo is much better than the Bose system in the Q. While the tech looked better in the Q, and it was easier to get to my radio presets, the infotainment system in this is fine. I love the HUD and always hated that the Q didn't have a digital speedometer.

I love the fact that the tires are not runflats. I got a bubble in the Q runflat within 1k miles and swapped out all of them for the highly recommended Continental DWS 06s. It improved the ride immensely. No such problem with the G. I'll need to get A/S tires before winter though. I think I am going to hate the small gas tank. Range on the Q was between 400 and 450 miles. I got into my brand new G with its full gas tank and saw the range was under 300. Ugh. More of a mental thing than anything, but still a pain in the ass to go to the gas station more.

At this point, not much more to add. I'm sure I'll come up with something in the future. I don't think I'll need to or want to tune this car. It is almost perfect as it is.

Show us some pics of your sweet new G70!

Pictures?? I would love to see the Casablanca white in non-dealer photos

Sorry all. Got busy and haven't had the time. I'll try to get some pics this weekend once I get her all cleaned up. By the way, a couple weeks later I'm still loving the car. The only annoying thing is the small gas tank. Really a pain. I usually have to fill up twice a week. Hard to come from the large gas tank of the Q60 with its 450 mile range (for me). Can't believe how loaded this car is. Quick question: Do the mirrors angle down in reverse?

Mirrors do angle down in reverse “if so equipped”

When you move the shift lever to the R (Reverse) position, the side view mirror(s) will rotate downwards to aid with driving in reverse. The position of the side view mirror switch (1) determines whether or not the mir- rors will move:
Left/Right : When either the L (Left) or R (Right) switch is selected, both side view
mirrors will move.
Neutral : When neither switch is selected, the side view mir-
rors will not move.

^I LOVE that feature. Always use it when backing into parking spaces, as I can see my rear wheel and get nice and close to the curb, without curbing my wheels.

Now, on the other hand, when I'm rounding a corner in a parking lot, evidently I have a hard time seeing curbs....

...as seen here.

Haha.

In my defense I wasn't trying to park when I hit the curb! I was turning *into* the parking lot! Didn't realize how wide the track is, also didn't see the curb. Haha

Surround view monitor solves all these problem. Something for future buyers to consider.

You know you can manually turn on the surround view monitor while moving forward if you’re not going too fast, right?

Just poking fun at ya! I'm constantly worried about the wide track too

Yup. Evidently I just didn't think about the possibility of hitting that curb, as I was turning in from the street. I certainly make excessive use of my 360 camera now if I even think I may come close to any curb!!

Speaking of which, while the surround view monitor is fantastic, you don't get quite the resolution of the sideview mirror when you're trying to get reeeaallly close to the curb when parking. You can switch to the specific view profile, but I like keeping the 360 on so I can glance back between that and the sideview mirror quickly while parking.

Yes but I never feel the need to get within an inch of the curb. Btw, if you have a problem turning too close to a curb, try it on a G90. That is a wide and long car.

Admittedly ive been a bit OCD in keeping away from other cars while parking, including being snug with the curb just in case.

As for the G90, I believe it. That is one huge, luxurious yacht! Definitely not a car I could be trusted to drive.
