another reason why Genesis dealers need to educate their employees

called a genesis dealer to make a appt to get a oil change. (dealer has two brands one Hyundai and one brand XXX) when recepectonist answered phone i asked for genesis service. response was Hyundai or brand XXXX. I replied. Genesis. response was Hyundai or XXXX
I gave up and said Hyundai
 
And the service personnel who have only worked on Accents will do the maintenance.
It isn't the car that is a problem. Hyundai dealers don't think they should put money
and training in to a car they may not be able to sell or service for long.
 
The dealer I go to has a dedicated person who handles all the Genesis vehicles for service. They provide me with her direct number. She is also the only person who is allowed to write up service orders for Genesis cars at that dealership. I think this really depends on the dealership you go to.
 
once i get through to genesis service i get the greatest service

making is the receiptionst who andwers the phone did not have a clue what a genesis is

A very valid point, Duke. It all begins with how the phone is answered and how promptly and courteously the customer's inquiry is handled.

True of any business. You never know what you lost because of some clod up front. My dealer has only two salespeople that are allowed to sell Genesis.

That person was actually an a*****e. They know very well what Genesis is. They were just trying to talk down to you because you "only own a Hyundai" in "THEIR" eyes... Meanwhile, an a*****e like that drives a piece of garbage. Trust me. That person - was an a*****e. There are people who cannot be educated - no matter how good the education.

Totally agree! If you watch TV you know what Genesis is. If you work for a Dealer you don't?????...
 
I think Duke owns a newer Genesis.

Duke, recently I spoke to the General Manager of my dealership. He subsequently made a staffing change based on my comments/complaint. You might consider telling your dealer about his wayward employee who is dragging his business down.

Sal - my initial reaction was that you're being a bit harsh, but you are totally correct.

I agree with you - I was definitely being harsh. But, as you probably agree now, sometimes harsh criticism is needed and deserved. This is exactly that type of subhuman that needs to be removed from Genesis dealerships - immediately...

Or not! No skin off my back...
