  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well, I didn't really plan this but..... every time I go to see the dealer for an oil change or stop by to take a look at new car, I'm always afraid, I might end up driving a new car out of their lot!

It happened before....and it happened again! :D

Here is my new ride - 2015 V8 5.0 Empire State Gray with just as little as 4200 miles on the clock.

Enjoy the pics, guys :)

Just like mine - except for color - same mileage even.

Time to change the oil. ***

The V8 is nice! It moves!

*** I posted some notes a couple of days ago on the 5.0 oil change

Awesome for you and the color is beautiful. Congratulations.

Nicly done my man!

No need for the ESC disable anymore to unleash the 5.0 in all its glory , however, I could not see the HUD in these pictures! Did I miss it?

No Dave, it isn't there. I believe that "Ultimate" comes with HUD and other fancy stuff, that I wouldn't need it anyway, lol

As for ESC - I wish 5.0 was that quick as an Rspec. In Rspec, you just mash the pedal and you leave 2 looooong black marks on the pavement.

Can't do that with 5.0 ....it pulls, but acts like it has "launch control" activated! ...... unless I'm doing it wrong :D

HUD - I didn't want it either - although I almost bought one because I liked the Pamplona paint job it came with.

The V8? Well, mine does 0-60 mph in 5 secs., as advertised - not bad for a 4600 lb sedan.

Select sports mode, hold the ESC button for 5 seconds until it beeps, then mash that pedal and please tell me the results.

[EDIT]expected result: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLq7uFpX2QY[/EDIT]

Although I agree it is about 400ms seconds slower, the R-spec is 4.8 seconds consistently, while 5.0 I could never manage better than 5.2 seconds during the last two times I 'borrowed' a 5.0 Ultimate from the dealer over night while they were servicing the R-Soec, in the hope that I would fall in love with the 5.0 (using OBDII readings, of course!).

However, each time I get back in the R-Soec (especially now with 20" wheels), I find the R-Spec drive is more satisfying, as apposed to the 5.0 Ultimate which is simply effortless, the thing practically drive itself (with all the toys switched on)...

The 'fluidic sculpture 2.0' look, is beginning to grow on me but I would miss the engagement aspect of my short daily drive...
Maybe I will break down and get one around the MCE cycle (when I am older and little wiser :D)

I didn't mean burnout like he did. I could do that all day long, practically with any car out there.

I meant from stand still and mash it....just like I did in my clip (1:10min) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7c3HEWSyCrQ

Disabling traction and stability control doesn't do anything - it still won't let me burn those fat-ass tires.

congrats on the new car... can't wait until someone develops a front lip to complete the front bumper... Great color to. .

Dareck you had rigid collars in your 1st gen, correct? While I know they aren't available in the 2nd gen (yet), how would you characterize the 2nd gen's handling compared to the 1st gen with the rigid collars?

No, I did not. I was going to get them installed but I changed my mind.

As for suspension and handling? ..... it's like comparing apple to oranges :D seriously, I mean it.

Finally, I am not scare anymore to drive the car in triple digits. If 1G had this suspension, I'd keep my Rspec. And there is no shaking/vibration of steering wheel, even at high speed (100mph+) (thank God!)

I might keep this car for a little bit longer.....................or not :p

Congratulations! That's a good looking Genesis!

Thanks Sal .......and it's fastest color again! :D

Haha, don't hate me ..... I'm not going anywhere, I'll try to stay active in both sections ;)

Don't worry LandoAWD, darekibmi bought an Empire State Gray color car which we all know is the slowest. He will have all kinds of time to visit both sections :D
