Any Assistance with Finding a Rack $ Pinion Assy

Hello to you all,

I recently came across a major unexpected issue with my 2015 Genesis where I was told from my mechanic that my Rack and Pinion is busted and needs to be replaced. I'm currently commuting in the DC area and was hopeful that someone can provide a parts store or point of contact where I may possibly find one. Thanks to you all for this wonderful forum and the treasure trove of useful info.

This may be a stupid question but is your steering still operational w/ out any warning lights, noise, vibration & etc,? If so, I'd find another mechanic....

Hello to you. It hardly turns at all. I initially took it to the dealership and then to a local reputable mechanic for verification.

If your car is RWD, there's a bunch of them on car-part.com Search for Steering 'Rack/Box/Gear'.

No my steering not operational at all unfortunately.

It's the 3.8 AWD. However, on another note, since the engine is the same on the 2018 G80's I was able to find a refurbished rack and pinion. Would it be possible to use that part on my 2015 or is it not recommended?

What I meant by that is that I'm in the DC area currently commuting back and forth to/from work so I was hoping to find a mechanic in these surrounding areas. Apologies for the confusion.
