  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any golfers around here?

Just returned from Prince Edward Island in Canada. Played Glen Afton. A wonderful course on the St. Lawrence Strait. PEI has about 30+ courses. So if you are looking for a golf adventure try PEI. But the island also has the most expensive toll bridge I have encountered. Nothing to get on the island but $42 to get off if driving.

I play occasionally. 9 holes every Tuesday, then into the club house for drinks while the wives have dinner for "Ladies Night". 9 holes every Wednesday, then to the clubhouse for couples night dinner. 18 holes every Saturday and Sunday. Occasionally an emergency 9 on Mon/Tuesday or Friday. Almost never play on Thursday, though - that would be excessive.

My home course is Gates Four. Here in Fayetteville NC, I can play a different course every day of the month and never travel more than 30 miles. Or, I can make a 1 hour drive to Pinehurst or 2 hours to Myrtle Beach and have an additional 200 courses or so to choose from.

It's not all good, however. Sometimes, in the dead of winter, we might have stretches of 12-15 hours when it is just too cold to play.

I've been as good as a 5, and as bad as it gets. Right now, I'm stuck in the high single digits. I play TaylorMade Tour Burner Irons (4-AW), an Adams Hybrid 3I that I dug out of my fathers bag, a Callaway square driver (can't remember the model), a Ping 3 wood (can't remember the model), a Cobra S9 60 degree lob wedge, and a Cleveland 56 degree sand wedge, and a mix of putters.

I played football and boxed growing up. Played a year of college ball. My commander asked me to play golf when I was a Drill Sergeant - told him no because:

a. I was a real athlete
b. I was young

I gave it a try anyway. Hardest thing I've ever tried to master.
