  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all, new to forum and new to Genesis.

I test drove my buddies, and yea it left an impression. So now I'm on the prowl to buy a 2019, since I'm seeing some pretty insane discounts off MSRP in other states.

My question is, have any super sleuths out there seen any good 2019 deals going on in IL area?

Another question, these '12k off MSRP' posts I'm seeing are great but can I take that to my local dealer and use it as leverage?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Be more specific, IL is ~300 miles stretched south-north.

To be fair, anywhere within IL.

But my bubble is the Chicagoland area, which I know has upwards 7-8 dealers.

You can try cars.com and autotrader.com to start.

As for 12k off MSRP, you can try to use that at your local dealer; but, they may just tell you to go F yourself. Some dealers are jerks like that.

Hey we all got to make our nut, so I wouldn't blame them. I'm just curious if the large discounts are more a Genesis thing than a dealer thing, to get more cars out there and have word of mouth start ramping up.

Lease cash is an opportunity to reduce your final number, rather than purchasing. Consider that. The lease thread has so many comments to educate you. If you have a specific version of G70, transmission, drive, interior, colors and so on that narrows things. I had a first choice and second choice exterior choice. Went with second choice to make number work. Your friend may be able to suggest his salesman who can locate your car and make a deal. Work a little more.

In that case, try Napleton's in Naperville/Aurora. I bought 8 cars from them, only 7 from one salesman and always got a good deal. They are high volume dealer, hence, they're flexible on prices.

Define flexible, because 3-4k off MSRP isn't what I'm looking for. I'm a beggar AND a chooser.

I'll give them a look tho, I appreciate your input buddy.

I understand that the package, trans, and drive are big options, but the interior/exteriror colors affect pricing?

Exterior color is not a price factor. What I meant was that to find the total package I wanted at the price I accepted the second choice color made the deal work. The first choice exterior color+options was available no closer than 250 miles at a dealer who was not motivated while the second choice was right here and right now. Bird, hand, bush, etc.

Ahhh, you got it.

That makes sense. I really want the Adriatic Blue, but they're slim to none around my local dealers.

Well....I'm not sure how low they can go, but if you're looking at ~10K off MSRP, then "demo car" with ~4K miles would be your best bet, I think. That is, if they have and want to get rid of it.
I've had those deals of ~12-14K off sticker price when I was looking for '13 5.0 rspec and later '15 5.0, both were demo cars, but the price was right.

So what are the deals of new 2019's I'm seeing being sold for 12k off MSRP?

MI and GA dealers are blowing em out.

Where are these 12k$ discounts? Are they near you?
We have a member of this forum who is a Hyundai/Genesis employee and has been generous in sharing Circle A discount certificates. This allows the purchaser to start his negotiation at below invoice and other opportunities stack from there. Lease cash, competitor vehicle, military and some others may apply depending on your situation. The Circle A is available once you have identified your target vehicle as it is VIN specific. No guarantee that he is still supplying assistance.
PLUS, motivated seller, educated buyer, bargaining skills and the usual factors.

Well sadly the one is MI state only, the Kalamazoo dealer. Talked with their sales guy and he laid it out for me.

What's Circle A? I don't fall under the educated buyer bracket.

Circle A is for friends and family of H/G employees and there appears to be no limits to issuance. If you do that search you will find many references to him and how others have used the certificate. I had one. (I also preferred the Adriatic and settled on Himalayan Gray-still happy) Also skim-read the leasing question section to learn how others have negotiated. It is what I did and I am sure others as well. Take some time. You say you are not in a hurry and are choosy so use free time for the next day or two to learn from others. This is an eclectic board and BS is extremely rare. You can be quite confident of what people post, with the normal considerations of human nature.

You can be like me, fly out there and buy that car.

Just don't be in a hurry to buy. Many people get all wrapped up in wanting buy the day they're there, and the salespeople know it, and prey on that. I was in the dealership 4 times before I bought.

Yea that's a given.

I am 100% juiced to buy this car, but I will when my terms are met. Hopefully that'll happen some day soon lol
