  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any good 2019 G70/80 deals in IL area people see?

I'll have to research what kind of APR people tend to get on residual financing.

Thanks for the input!

My APR for my auto loan is 3.84%, this was for the full sales price of my car ($48k, 3.3 AWD Sport, Circle A). My APR could have been worse if I had a different length on my loan.

Not saying my APR is anything special. Just giving you a sample of maybe what you might expect.

If I had taken more time with the sales deal, I probably could have saved more money in the long run if I had negotiated a lease instead.

Either way, I'll have my car paid off completely by this summer.

What model year is this and when did you purchase it?

In my area, the best price that I see for a 2019 G70 Advanced RWD (with Elite/Prestige/Sport packages) is $44K, but it's used albeit with very low mileage (~300).

This was a 2019, AWD Sport trim. Purchased in February of last year (2019). Brand new.

Then you did get a great price. This one would be $4K less but without AWD, without 10/100K powerttrain warranty, and one year older at the time of purchase.

To be fair, anywhere within IL.

But my bubble is the Chicagoland area, which I know has upwards 7-8 dealers.

Just don't go to Genesis of Gurnee. On the sales side, they are a bunch of lying pirate hookers. Service has been OK. But don't give them a tick mark in the Genesis sales category.

Pirate hookers? if this wasn't regarding a car purchase I'd be in.

Mind me asking because that's a bold statement to make, what was done to you that garnered their hookerish title?

If you search my username you’ll find the history. But here’s the skinny: they lied to my face and sold me a service loaner. I was told the car was a dealer trade from Michigan (car had 400 miles on it at delivery). When I went to book my first complimentary service, I was informed my Genesis corporate that my car didn’t qualify for the free maintenance because it was put into service by the dealer as a service loaner. Took me 5 WEEKS on the phone with a Genesis of Gurnee (who could have cared less) and Genesis corporate (who did nothing, just played the “each dealer is independent” garbage). I was so disappointed. I worked for Lexus for 7 years - if they made a mistake they would correct immediately and not make the customer go through 5 weeks of shit just to correct some paperwork to make me eligible for the free service.

No effort by Genesis corporate to make it right. No apology for dealer. No effort to make me think Genesis knows how a “luxury” car ownership experience should work.

Don’t get me wrong - I love my G70. It’s awesome. But a $52k (msrp) care from a luxury brand should give customers a better experience.

Believe me I’m not trying to defend the dealer. But Did you have anything in writing that said that the car is being sold as new? Wouldn’t it show as new or used on the bill of sale or the registration?

Yes. The lease agreement (bill of sale) said the car was new. If the car had 500 miles or more, Genesis corporate said they would not consider the car eligible to be sold as new and I would have had to sue the dealership. In the end, the paperwork was corrected between the dealer and Genesis corporate to show me as the 1st owner.

However, what angers me most is the dealer lied. Dealer trade = understandable. Service loaner = never in a million years would I have signed for that car. The real kicker is that they had another identical model (color, packages) on the lot but they chose to sell me the one that was a short term service loaner. I still would have purchased a G70 from them - but had they disclosed the truth, I would have said simply, “Service Loaner? Nope. I’ll take the next VIN that matches the color and package I want.” So simple. But they lied, because the sale was more important than the customer. Luxury auto makers cannot pull this shit on buyers like a mass market brand can and expect any kind of loyalty.

So to me, the dealer lied. I had to deal with it. The car itself is amazeballs. Love the car. Hate the dealer. Hoping the BRAND will get their schtuff together and give their customers the same level of treatment as Lexus, Audi, BMW, etc.

^ wow. i am very glad i was not forced into your position. sounds like you handled it better than i would have. ultimately you are made whole - sort of. except for the fact that you own what was a service loaner. glad to hear you are enjoying the car at the end of the day...
