  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone read or heard anything more suggesting when the navigation system might be available for the Coupe?

I"m interested in this as well.

They started production on coupes with NAV in June, your dealer should see them in the system now and be able to search for them. As for actualy getting one, Patience.......

ALL-NEW HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE
Touch-Screen Navigation and New Multi-Gauge Information Display
Added as Running Changes

For the mid-2010 model year, the Genesis Coupe has been upgraded with an optional in-dash navigation unit and a new multi-gauge information display screen. This system provides new features including Bluetooth streaming audio capability. This easy-to-use unit can be controlled via 6.5-inch WVGA touchscreen or voice-activation by headliner-mounted microphone.
The system features 8GB of USB memory and comes matched with the Infinity 10-speaker, 360-watt sound system which plays compact discs, accesses digital music files employing Bluetooth streaming audio or allows driver and passenger to access their personal listening devices through the iPod®/USB/auxiliary inputs. Bluetooth streaming audio wirelessly streams music from their phone to the Navigation system. Also with a Bluetooth-enabled phone one can look up a local restaurant and call for reservations before plotting the route. The XM Satellite Radio interface is also integrated into the navigation unit and features channel logos and real-time NavTraffic. XM Satellite Radio and NavTraffic service are complimentary for the first 90 days. A subscription is required to continue service. The system is also updateable via the USB port and the new multi-gauge information display features a high resolution clock, instantaneous fuel economy and torque readouts. The touch-screen navigation-equipped Genesis Coupes will begin arriving in dealerships in the summer of 2009.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Aargh, I should have waited. Next question - can I get it installed into the coupe I bought without it? :)

Just saw one yesterday and was going to pick it up myself, but it wasn't in White

The Nav System option adds $1250.00 to the vehicle price. Its available to install after purchase by the factory.

Why couldn't the car be White...I'd even settle for the Light or Dark Grays....

All that for $1250 is a pretty good deal...Nissan charges about $1850 for the Nav system in the 370Z...

I don't know how you can justify paying for a factory NAV. For $250, you can get a top of the line Garmin that does a much better job and is more upgradable and customizable than the OEM NAVs. The screen is smaller, and it isn't integrated, but still.

I agree you can get a much better portable nav unit for a fraction of the cost of a factory system, but things like factory radio and steering wheel control integration won't work (or work messily) with aftermarket units. The integrated look without cords and such is also a big deal for some.

The other weekend, I was sad to see a couple coming back from watching a movie at the local cinema. Porche. Empty GPS cradle. Broken window. Security guard taking a report. Portable GPS units are easy smash & grab targets and often it's a big PITA to disconnect it and take it with you.

As has been said, Hyundai's price for Nav is actually pretty reasonable compared to other brands that can charge up to $4000 for the privilege of Navigation. Especially if it includes the rumored 8GB music jukebox.

I have a portable Garmin unit that I will use in my coupe. The cord is kind of a PITA, however, I don't worry about taking the unit with me when I leave. I simply take it off the dash and set it on the floor, somewhat under the passenger seat. Most thieves looking for a quick smash n' grab will not look beyond the dash or the seats because the risk of looking suspicious is too great.

Also, I can take it with me when I travel in another vehicle or lend it out to family/friends.

For those of us who have lived where we lived all our lives, can someone explain to me why NAV is so desirable when you know where you drive 95% of the time like the back of your hand and the other 5% I can bring up on Google Maps on my iPhone in a few seconds?

I've always been puzzled as it seems, especially the younger crowd, is obsessed with NAV. The Infinity salesman last weekend says used cars with NAV hold their resale value better but I've always though the more options you have, the larger the depreciation hit. I guess one way to look at it is some people want NAV others (like me) could care less. But when you go to sell your car, if you have NAV, then you have a larger group of potential buyers to sell to because if I'm buying used I wouldn't mind getting a car with NAV since the major depreciation hit has already happened.

It just strikes me as people wanting it more as a status symbol or something to try to differentiate their cars from the hords of other people driving the same car maybe? Especially on this car since it wasn't an option initially. But I also realize, NAV these days means more than just navigation. It could mean hard drive for music storage, bluetooth, voice command, etc. etc. It may be at 40 I'm 'old school' and it's just a matter of a few more years before NAV is standard on every car.

Well I heard with nav in most cars its also a dvd player then a same car with out nav plus there is a company on here that has a mod to watch a dvd while moving to over ride the parking break on most systems

I know these cars appeal to mostly a younger crowd but I thought they also appealed to a *smart* crowd. Who the hell watches DVD's in a coupe? Ya the front passenger could but do you think the driver might get just a little distracted!?! Or is that the "cool" thing to do these days is drive around with a DVD playing in the dash display?

I'm in my mid 50's and will only buy a this coupe with a NAV option. I want the V6 touring w/ NAV

Picked up my car a couple of weeks ago, 3.8GT and Nav is part of the standard package.
It is new, as the owners manual doesn't even show a dash with the Nav system and the supplimental Nav manual is way over done. Lot of redundancy.
There is no DVD, nor should there be in a coupe.
