  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I noticed that my 4.6 calibers are different colors F&R and thought I may paint them. Any ideas on color choice?

Use high heat paint

What color is your car? In general, red if you want them to stand out, black if you don't. High temp paint, either buy a G2 kit or high temp spray paint and be sure to mask the car well!

Titanium/Black I was thinking maybe gold. Red screams boy racer

Red is a classic caliper color, but gold will look good as well. Silver or black will not stand out, so it depends on if you want to showcase them or not.

Depends on your "design" choice.

Eastwood sells brake caliper paint kits in many colors. I found cheaper caliper paint at Auto Zone. The important thing is to clean the calipers well. I used a simple brake cleaner.
I had a Cadillac CTS-V, which comes stock with Brembo brakes. Stock is gray with Cadillac logos. I changed to red and bought some Brembo decals on ebay. Did one side with Eastwood and the other with Auto Zone. No difference that I could see.
Keep in mind that the Cadillac calipers were smooth, polished castings, which took the decals well. Rough castings such as those on the Hyundai rear are not so dramatic painted.

You can dremel the castings off, make the caliper a bit smoother before painting to get a better finish.

I really like your gold iea. Maybe a slight less yellow than standard gold but still metallic. Did you paint yours yet? I painter both of my Muranos calipers RED, great look for that vehicle.

The Genesis has the best pads that I have had for non dusting, my MB's were bad as was the VW Phaeton.

I did notice that the front calipers on my 2010 were painted in a glossy black finish and I was planning at a leter date (next detail) to paint the rear calipers to match!

i painted my rotors right after i bought my genesis ( painted black to match the front) got my paint kit from www.tirerack.com & replaced my rotors with dimpled/slotted rotors from www.brakeperformance.com

I am thinking of painting them black or silver. Red seems a bit to loud for a luxury sedan. I'd be hesitant to try to polish them. They have a protective rust proofing on them and you don't want to remove that...even if you are applying a coat over top.

A major reason for my buying the V-8 was the larger front brakes. Wonder who the supplier is for Hyundai. You can add manufacturer's decals to the repainted calipers if you like. Brembo decals are readily available on eBay.
