  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone ever shopped the Acura RLX ?

My local dealer tries to hold Acura SUV for SUV owners and RL or RLX for RL/RLX owners.
I typically get a TL or an TSX. I normally drop my car off late in the evening or first thing in the morning to assure I get a TL of my choosing;). Now with that said; they are basically letting people test drive a demo and near new car hoping that when you come back that you are wanting the new car. One of the salesmen normally hang out in service area for that very reason. (don't know if hes having any luck or not) Bottom line for my local dealer is they are using their loaners as trade bate. The service person would however put me in a RDX if I mentioned anything about an SUV for the same reason.

I think its smart business, because you have a chance to enjoy the car without salesman pressure.

If you buy a car or have to wait on another car coming from a dealer (our case 10 days) they actually put us in a 06 TL while we waited for ours to come in. (10 days was due to 5 days for transport and the other 5 was waiting on the rear spoiler we wanted) That same car had approx 40 miles on the odometer when we purchase. We still have the car today 152k miles later.

Service to me sells. I haven't bought another Acura because I haven't like the body style and it appears I dont have anything to look forward to on the 2014 TL. We are more than happy with our 2013 Genesis Coupe and loaded 2013 Sante Fe sport turbo. My Acura will continue to serve as the daily driver until the wheels fall off.

Look, I have no issue with Acura service. The local dealers are fine and I like them. I thought the MDX was a good SUV. Not great, but good, pretty reliable, and I got good money out of it when I sold it.

BUT, being that this was their "top of the line" SUV, I did not get the same as a loaner during service every time, and it did go in for several things other than just "regular service". No big deal to me.

Usually a TL which I like, but not a RL/MDX if we're picking hairs out of flea $hit here. If Acura service trumps Hyundai service and "service is what sells" to you, then I don't see why you're driving a Genesis coupe and a Santa Fe instead of a TSX and a RDX. They're very nice.

I've had 5 MB's, including 3 AMG's, and not once did a dealer hand me a S500/S550 or another AMG as a loaner. Not once did the local BMW dealer give me a M5 or 7 series while mine was in for service or warranty work (and it happened more than once). So far I'm pretty happy with the cost/value ratio of the G.

Yeh, I think they "Spotted" him.
My bro's Maser" was in for unscheduled service.
his loaner -> a well used BMW SUV..
