  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recently got new rubber (Conti Extreme Contact DW) and had the car aligned at that time. Maybe 5k since then and I am getting heel/toe wear on the outside of the tread (see attached photo grabbed from another forum). This can be normal due to tread design / soft rubber, but can also be from suspension/alignment issues, particularly with caster. I've had this problem with other cars/tires and with my last Audi, switched to Goodyear Eagle F1s since they do not have a traditional tread block on the outside of the tire. Maybe I should have stuck with them. Heading to the dealer to have the alignment checked again.

I think a lot of people (including myself) have reported uneven tread wear, but not necessary as depicted in your pics. A lot of people have also reported a pull to the left. These situations occur with factory alignment specs, so it appears that re-alignment to specs is actually the cause, and not a cure, of the problem.

In most cases the problem you show in your photos is due to not rotating the tires front to rear often enough. Also some thread designs tend to wear like in your photos no matter what you do regarding rotation and aligment.
