  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sheered the drivers side CV joint at the hub end on a hard launch in my 2012 5.0 RSPEC. From Hyundai they net $940 plus shipping for it. Not having any of that jazz. I'll pull it, leave the car down and have rebuilt if I have to. Curious if anyone knows of an aftermarket or reman path for them. OEM Part number posts as 49600-3M300 from my digging thus far.

Unfortunately these cars are expensive to repair because Hyundai OEM parts supply is a monopoly in Korea.

Your dealer is not be the most expensive out there. This site is more or less the same:

2009-2016 Hyundai Axle Assembly 49600-3M300 | Parts Hyundai

And this one charges more.

496003M300 - Hyundai Cv axle assembly. Shaft assembly - drive rear (rr), left hand (lh) | Wholesale Hyundai Parts, Lakeland FL

You can also try a LKQ or other u-pull-it yard of course. This ebay post looks a bit dubious, but you never know...

Elected to just rebuild thru suburban driveline. Upgrading the cv components so I don't have this issue again. $120 each, universal sign to Hyundai OEM part supply is flyin high.

had had a similar problem with my old 87 MR2 I use to have, I could find passenger cv shafts all day long, which also seems to be the case for the Genesis after doing some looking around for you, but nobody had a driver side cv shaft.

just a quick google shows passenger side cv's are around $200 for the Genesis but can find any driver side. really weird.

edizzle89 - I too saw the passenger sides popping all over. As low as $145, the drivers side has all the ECU components for signalling the ECS, wheel speed, Pbrake engagement etc it's not $945 worth, but the axle is definitely different. So the advice up front is to bust the passengers side unless you have a local establishment that can rebuild these drivers side axles for you.
