  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

As the title suggest, does it work preventing yellowing/crazing of headlights? My Mazdaspeed 3 has lived outside most of its life and the headlight condition reflects that.

I’ve been using 3m clear headlight protection on my cars since 2001 none of them showed the fading, hazing, peeling, cracking behavior that I see on other vehicles.

My wife’s 2007 Camry was traded at 10 years and 98,000 miles, spent its entire life parked outside and the headlights were crystal clear when it was turned in, neighbor had the came car bought around the same time and hers are yellow and hazy.

FWIW we did replace the covers at around 5 years as they started to look a bit ratty, the corners tend to trap dirt and peel up over time and a few 100 car washes.

I highly recommend them, Also mirror cap protection as well, the led lenses will suffer the same hazy discoloring over time as well.

Had the Xpel protection film applied to my headlights. This was part of a larger front end package but the benefit of reducing chips and dings is really noticeable along with some UV protection that I'm hoping will work well enough to avoid the oxidizing long term.

The biggest thing I notice right now is the headlights look great, as if they are "waxed" and clean up incredibly easy with a hose. I would highly recommend it.

Would also reccomend xpel, got mine when I also had xpel tints installed. Sofar headlights still look new

This is what I've used...

No affiliation to the product, but I've used it on my 21yr old Honda Accord after cleaning the yellowed lights up with polish. It's kept them clear for about 6 months so far. Easy to apply too. Also applied to the Genesis just as a precaution.

I put Lamin X on mine, came pre-cut to shape. The shape of the headlamp lens makes this a tedious job. Not hard just takes a lot of patience and be sure you understand the process before you start.
