Intermittently I hear a loud "clang" sound from the exhaust as the car is warming up, sitting idle in my driveway. It sounds like it's coming from under the back seat. And it's loud enough to startle me every time. It doesn't do it all the time so that's why I haven't taken it into the dealer. I don't want them to keep it for a few days to give it back with a big NTF.
It's not a backfire because the idle is perfect. A backfire will show on the tachometer. This is just a loud, metallic, clang sound. And it will only do it on the first cold start of the morning. Once warmed up it's good for the entire day, even if it sits for 9 hours while I'm at work.
So I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this noise?
