  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recently fell victim to a hit and run that's totaled my '10 4.6 Tech (very sad day) and looking for a Genesis replacement. One of the ones I'm interested in is in northern Indiana. I'm willing to fly/get there from Minnesota, but don't want to waste the $ and time if doesn't check out. Is anyone in that area willing to go look it over and test drive it for me?

I can tell you it was originally a Hyundai corporate car. Had a LF door lock actuator replaced at 43k miles, and an exhaust manifold replaced at 53k miles. Still has 1 open recall for a wiper motor cover.

Thanks Garnet. I looked at the AutoCheck.

Saw a couple of threads on the 8 speed introduced in '12. Other than AutoCheck is there a way to find out from Hyundai if the tranny was replaced under warranty? My ZF has been rock solid and a little leery from what I read on the 8 speed in '12.

Ok, called my local Hyundai dealer service and they ran last 8 on the VIN for me. Everything matches the AutoCheck, but I'm going to close this thread and pass. The exhaust manifold gasket replacement has me worried this one suffers from the early 5.0 abundant oil consumption syndrome and I can't take the risk of a money pit. New thread started as there's another in MI I'm interested in...
