  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone know if the eManual data can be copied?

I realize that we have an eManual that we can read on our Infotainment screens, but what I would like to have is an electronic copy that I can put on my iPad and PC. I am having a hella time reading the DIS Navigation System - Quick Reference Guide. This is caused by a combination of the really small type used for printing and I have a very lightly printed version. I have to have plenty of light to even read some of the tables.

I was thinking this eManual might possibly be on the SD card. If so, I could just make a copy. If the data file in on the hard drive, then that presents some problems getting a copy.

Anyone know more about this? Know anyone at Hyundai or a dealer that might know?

Best Regards,

Ray

Hello Ray,

All manuals are available in PDF Format on the Hyundai Website, just log into your account at https://www.hyundaiusa.com/ in the "My Hyundai" tab, and you will find the manuals in the "Manuals & Tips" section there on your "myHyundai" page ...

I see 4 PDF manuals plus the warranty booklet and 7 "Quick Tips" booklets for my 2015 there ...

I wish this was true, but, alas it is not true. There are only 3 pdf manuals at myhyundai.com and none of them are for the DIS NAV sys. I have a 2016 and my myHyundai site only has the 3 pdf manuals. I think they may have combined the Quick Ref and Warranty into one small booklet for 2016. Just a guess.

Owners manual, Genesis Quick Ref Guide, and the Blue Link manual are the only real manuals. Those others are TIPS consisting of one or two page 'how to' do something specific.

The owners manual has a total 4 pages dedicated to the Nav Sys and that basically says go read the separate manual that is not provided in pdf (so far).

I have been searching for a pdf of the DIS Nav Sys - Quick Ref Manual for some time now. The only one that I can find is for the 2013 Genesis DIS Nav sys and the two are very different systems, although some of the guts might be common.

Thanks for the reply though. :)

If you send me PM with your email, I'll send you the 2015 manual PDFs I have, they might be helpful since nothing much has changed between the 2015/2016 models years as far as I know ...

Some people shared some interesting into in this thread as well: http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=13429&page=2 and you can check here: http://www.hyundaiproductinformation.com/vehicles/15_vehicles/15_genesisSedan/genesisSedan_key_features.asp

Thanks. That is very generous of you. I have all the pdfs except one for the DIS Nav Sys. I have sent you a PM with my email address.

I'm sure there should not be any changes in the '15/'16 models manuals.

Thanks again.

Update

I pulled the SD card out and pugged it into my laptop to see what was on it. Just short of 12GB of Map and POI data. Not much else that I could recognize. It is a 16GB SD card so it has some headroom for updates.

I am working on a lead from a fellow 2015 Genesis driver that says he has a PDF of the DIS Nav Sys manual. I sure hope he is correct.

Update:

I am making some progress - not there yet, but I do have something to read online now.

The pdf that I received from one of our generous forum members is the CAR MULTIMEDIA SYS Users Manual for the 2015 Genesis (B1ENE02). This consists of 208 pages of good information for the basic Infotainment system for the Genesis (8 IN head).

I aslo received the Genesis Hyundai Navigation System QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE. This is a 79 page document that seems to be exactly that - an abbreviated Users Manual. This is also for the base 8 IN unit.

Both of these documents are most likely the same for both 2015 and 2016 base Genesis models.

Unfortunately or fortunately, as the case my be, I have the Ultimate editon 2016 Genesis and that bumps the Infotainment unit to the 9.2 IN HD edition and also negates using Apple Car Play. There are many differences in layout, buttons, controls, and functions between the 8" and 9.2". I am still actively seeking digital copies of manuals for this upgraded unit.

I check my myhundai.com account often in hopes that a downloadable pdf has been added, but my request seems to fall on deaf ears at Hyundai Customer Service. I have also suggested an enhanced Users Manual with graphics and specific How Tos that can be used on an iPad. That suggestion had not even been confirmed as received. duh.

So, should anyone happen to know a source for digital editions of the 9.2 IN HD 2015/2016 DIS Navigation Sys - Quick Reference Guide, please let me know. This is the touch screen and Jog Wheel edition.

This is the one that is about 1 1/2 inches thick and come is English, French, Spanish, and Korean. I ripped off the back three section of my printed copy and the English part is about 5/8 inch thick. This is a half sized manual - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. Mine is 174 pages.

Best Regards,

Ray
