  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone know if the USB port supports v3.0?

I loaded up an older v2.0 USB key with 600+ mp3 music files and started the transfer to the 64 GB SSD. The copying was so slow that I gave up at the 50% mark. Now I am considering moving the data over to a v3.0 USB key, erasing the incomplete first copying attempt and hoping for improved copy speed.

Is there a better way to load up the Jukebox?

Regards,
Ray

The way the USB pins are setup on the plug, it is USB 2.0. MP3 is already a compressed format which make it slow to transfer when copying from one device to another.

Yes, I am and that is a good feature. Of course, it then becomes a dedicated USB key for the Genesis.

I use a couple of 3.0 USB drives in my Genesis. But I'm afraid you'll be disappointed to hear that you will not have any speedier transfer to your Genesis Jukebox, since it uses USB 2.0. Now if you are moving stuff from a PC with USB 3.0 you'll save a little bit of time there. Hope that helps you.

Be aware that there is a approx. 7000(?) file limit to a plugged in USB drive. The unit will only catalog the first 7000 songs/files and ignore the rest. This probably also applies to the internal drive too.

Something I thought of but never checked out: There is an SD card plugged into the unit. I was wondering if you could copy the existing files on this to a much larger card, plug it in, and get more storage space for the internal jukebox.
