  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys

I was just curious if anyone has attempted to bake and open up the headlights for any modifications yet. I'm going to be customizing the headlights in a friends coupe in the future here and was just wondering if anyone had any issues...especially with the headlights resealing nice and airtight. This wont be my first time doing this, I just like to research a bit before I tackle things.

Also, does the coupe have the adaptive headlights too? or is that just the sedan that gets those?

One more question I have is, are there any write-ups on entire headlight assembly removal? The only thing I found were for just changing bulbs. I did however come across a link for a Hyundai service website http://www.hmaservice.com which was said to have the whole process in detail but it doesn't seem to be working for me on Firefox or IE.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, TIA

My 2010 Premium package 2.0T does not have adapative headlights. Maybe the Track model has 'em, or the V6's.

Track models don't have them as far as I know.

Alright, thanks for the info guys. Hopefully I can even fit these things into an oven...looks like it might be close. I'll more than likely update when I get around to modding these headlights.

You can not modify the headlights so that they have clear corners. Underneath the orange corner reflector is a flat surface with a rather large square hole. As such, something must cover this--and unfortunately there is no part that can be inserted here to achieve the clear/white corners look.

In order to do this, you need to purchase the KDM headlights since they have white frosted corner reflectors:

Opening them up is a real project and also rather difficult to reseal correctly--but if you can handle the job, it's well worth it:

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'm actually going to be doing some lighting modifications. I just asked if anyone had cleared the lights figuring that would be the main cause for opening the units up. But thanks again for the info its greatly appreciated.

love the clean look of those headlights. how would i go about doing this to my headlights but in black to match my black genesis. any help and info would be great. thanks!

We offer this on our website under the "Lighting" category. Look for the Customized Headlights listing.

Note that your corner reflectors are orange, whereas the headlights you see above have translucent reflectors. These are actually KDM headlights, not domestic North American ones. The Customized headlights that we offer all use KDM headlights, so at least you know the translucent reflectors would be part of it.

What about just adding 35w H11 HID kit on the low beams? Any tips there? Doesn't appear to be much room to work without removing them from the car first.

Diggin the body kit and spoiler on the white car. Lights look good too.............
