Apple Car Play

Is there a way to move the Car Play icons on the screen. Yesterday I discovered that Waze is on the 2nd page. I would like to move it to the first page if possible.

FWIW, on a first drive with Waze, I thought it was great and much better than using my phone in a dash holder. If I could delete on the first page, maybe Waze would move over.

yes you do it on the phone.


go to SETTINGS -->GENERAL then to CARPLAY, choose your Car.. you can add/remove certain icons and rearrange them to your liking, do it with the phone DISCONNECTED from the car.


I organized mine with communication and maps on the top row and music on the bottom row. removed all apps i'll never use like audiobooks, amazon music, etc. while I use them on the phone, I will never use them in the car.

Is there a way to modify the settings so the car doesn't read the text outloud upon receipt when it is touched on the screen or on the phone? I don't need my passengers hearing what my texts say. I just want to see them on my phone screen or my watch

When the text come in just ignore it. You have to acknowledge by pressing the jog dial for it to be read.

As I recall while in CarPlay mode iOS disabled notifications to keep you from being distracted so if connected you can’t see it without unlocking the phone and going into messages.
