  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looks like Genesis rebounded from last months dip and sold 1,605 vehicles last month which would be an increase of 154.

The only detailed sales released so far is for the G80 so I will update this as the G70 and G90 figures come online. We will have to wait until we see the figures but the G70 sales may have continued to slide. The G70 sold 27 more than the previous month and the G90 was the big loser. Obviously month to month is not the best comparison but year to year is not possible given last year's stop shipment and the dealer rollout.

G70 - 844 (increase of 27 from March)
G80 - 632 (increase of 157 from March)
G90 - 129 (decrease of 30 from March)

Seems like sales of the G70 has hit a wall.

Thought w/ dealerships having come online in Cal and TX, that sales of the G70 should have crested the 1k mark, but wonder if dealerships are still holding the line on pricing (which is fine for a new/newish model like the Kia Telluride, but not for a sedan).

The Stinger is still outselling the G70; wonder if the tight rear leg/foot space is playing a part?

The G80 is doing OK for a model that's going to be replaced soon (once again selling 2x what the GS is doing); expect it to break the 1k mark w/ the new model.

The facelifted G90 should be able to do 2x the volume that it currently is doing.

The LS 500 is not selling anywhere close to Lexus' rather modest monthly sales goal of 1k/month.

3rd straight month of selling below 500 (and for Jan., it barely broke the 500 mark).

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think it is pricing though because people have been reporting some good discounts. I'm sure the introduction of the new 3-series has dampen sales a bit but their sales are down quite a bit this month from last also. Maybe just an industry/economic effecting that segment more than the midsize.

^^ Well, how are the lease deals in comparison to the competition?

C Class - 4,054
3 Series -3,642
A4 - 2,652
Q50 - 2,174
IS - 1,385
Giulia - 746
XE - 217

The economy in SK is not doing as well as here, and yet for a significantly smaller market, the G70 is selling a good bit better over there (and that market isn't really big on compact lux sedans; the volume sellers being the midsize lux, followed by the flagship class).

I don't really follow the RV/WF for those but just a quick glance I would say the RV for the G70 is lower than MB and BMW but so is the MF. Doesn't seem like too much of a difference with the other ones.

Genesis saw its 1st sales down under last month - 33 total.

G70 - 20
G80 - 13

Keep in mind that Genesis Australia is following the sales distribution path of Canada - using the boutique showroom/direct from manufacturer-online sales model (w/ the diff. being that Hyundai is actually ponying up the $$ for the showrooms) - which I have stated has its issues.

Sales are affected by the fact that presently, only 1 showroom (Sydney) has been built (not quite sure if it has been completed yet, as there have been delays; why is a big reason why the head of Genesis AU had departed recently).

But nonetheless, Genesis still had a pretty decent showing against the Japanese comp.

IS - 59
GS - 3

Q50 - 35
Q70 - 0

Esp. for the G80 which will be replaced shortly.

The Stinger did 160 in sales, so the G70 has a ways to go to catch up.

Here's an interesting tidbit.

For the 1Q, the G90 sold - 5,554 worldwide.

That's more than what the still relatively new LS 500 does worldwide from what I can surmise, and we have yet to see the facelifted G90 in NA (which should increase sales by a good bit).

Korea April - 6,398 (22,141 YTD)

G90 - 2,806
G80 - 1,930
G70 - 1,662

K9 - 978

The facelifted G90 continues to power on for Genesis in Korea.

While larger CUVs have gained traction in SK w/ the Palisade and current Santa Fe (combined 13.3k)- the Grandeur and new Sonata ended up selling around 19k units.

!70 sales in the Russian market (779 YTD).
