  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Are exterior color options fixed depending on trim choice?

So I've been doing a lot of research on the G70 and determined that the Prestige trim is right for me. I also narrowed down exterior color to either Himalayan grey or Nurburg green (colors available in Canada). However to my surprise there are only 3 colors available when I try to build my car on their website, none of which I like. Are the colors presented our ony choices? If so, that is just crazy and pretty much a deal-breaker for me.

I also noticed that the most color options you are offered is for the 2.0 RWD trim. However if you decide to spend an additional $12K for the top trim level your color choices are actually reduced. What am I missing here? This makes no sense at all.

Do we have to special order a trim/color combination? If so, how long does it take from order to delivery in Canada? I'm pretty disappointed with this and after a month of research am seriously considering for the first time dropping the G70 as an option.

Thanks in advance for shedding some light on this.

You’re doing something wrong. All colors should be available.

Update: Fme you’re right!! That’s messed up. Something has changed.

Either the website is f’d up...or it’s linked to real-time inventory. Mess around with different postal codes and see if anything changes. I used Etobicoke.

Better yet...call a dealer/boutique.

I think you're right. I could have sworn I saw more colors available for the Prestige trim when I started researching. I've been using a Montreal PC and changed it to Toronto but it still offers the same 3 color choices. It does make sense that it's offering only what's currently in inventory and that would explain the changing color choices.

Nevertheless I'm still planning to request a test drive so I'll be asking a rep but if there are any here on this forum I'd appreciate your thoughts.

The only limited colour in Canada was Siberian Ice which was only available for Sport.
But looks like they are just reflecting what's available at the moment.
Hopefully they don't take this as an indication that certain colours don't sell well and not offer them next year!
The 6MT is available in every colour.

Wonder if more 2019 cars are coming...or if you have to wait for 2020 trims.

2019's came out in Canada June or July from what I remember. I test drove one in the beginning of Aug.

So potentially a couple of months? Totally guessing here.

If that's accurate then the timing is ideal for me. I can jump on it as soon as they come out and get the trim/color I want but the only downside is that the price might be higher than the 2019's.

Thanks to you & NLJ for explaining the lack of color options and calming me down. :D

The online configuration only shows available cars, anywhere in Canada. You can reach out to your local Genesis dealer to maybe custom over a car with the spec you want. I did that it took 10 weeks to arrive and I am very happy with my choice. You could wait until about September for 2020 model years, I have heard from dealers it is coming around then.
