  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Gen owner and this is my first post. Very worried about asking something incredibly stupid. Here it is: are fog lights standard on an 09 v6? I see the little light bulbs in the fog lamp spots...but I have no light. Can't turn them on. It's a certified car, so -- should they be working?

Yes, fog lights are standard on all 2009-2013 Genesis Sedans, regardless of trim level. Make sure you read the owners manual as to how to engage them.

Thank you, Mark. Yes, husband and I have both been through manual. The lights just don't work. Grrr.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Its the second switch down the light stalk. Its just a small ring switch.

Yep. No response. The lights are on (and I tried every setting) but there is no response to turning the fog lights on. This is one of many points that received a "pass" in the 23,089 point inspection, that were not actually inspected -- I think.

Based on comments from other people, they usually don't bother to inspect everything, but you should be able to get the dealer to fix it.

This doesn't surprise me. My last car, a CPO 2006 Infiniti M45 had one foglight inop. Upon closer inspection, the bulb was installed, but connector was unplugged.

It also passed their "CPO multi-point inspection".

IIRC, on the Genesis, doesn't the ignition need to be on for the foglights to function?

I just ran out as soon as I read this and started the car up to go thru the lights process again. But...sadly they still didn't work.

This dealership certified the car even though the glove box was broken. The windshield wipers looked like 3 yr old Twizzlers. I shouldn't be shocked about the lights I guess.... I think it's a seriously crappy dealership! No one there even knew you had to have a special cable to connect a device. They were about to put the car in the shop and put in a new stereo because it would not connect to my phone. Omg...
