  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Are your front sensors working

A month or so ago I posted a thread about my front sensors not working. The advice was to take it to the dealer as no one else seemed to have my issue. To recap, my front parking sensors will not work unless I stop, put the car into reverse and then back into drive. The sensors will then work perfectly. I sent the car to the dealer and they found no fault. To thicken the plot, they tested 3 new G70's on the lot and discovered that they behaved the same as mine. In their wisdom, they decided this must be normal.
It is far from normal if someone has to shift a car into reverse to get the front parking sensors working. BTW, this problem only developed when the car was 4 months old as for the first 4 months they worked as they should. The reason for this new thread is to solicit some response from the community. Who out there has the same problem and who of you have front parking sensors that work the way they should? Thank you
Any changes? Mine just started acting up after a year. mine go off in traffic at every stop, no matter if there's anyone in front of me or not.
my parking assist button keeps turning on at every stop. Which I have to keep turning off just to stop the alarm when I'm at a light.

I have a 2023 G70 (2.0T) and recently came across this issue. Have had this car for almost 2 years now.

While reversing, suddenly my front right sensor went off. I thought it was some software glitch which would go away after powering off the engine. Sadly, it did not. It beeped throughout the day whenever the speeds went below 10 kmph or 6 mph. At night, took it to a car wash, and the problem went away.
Next day, went on a long drive, did not beep, and after about two hours of driving, the beeping sound came back. Don't know why!
This morning, came to work, and no issues at all.

Don't know what the problem is. Loose sensor/wires or software bug, who knows.

It’s definitely strange that your front parking sensors aren’t working correctly unless you shift into reverse first. It’s concerning that the dealer tested other G70s and found the same issue, but calling it "normal" doesn’t really make sense, especially when the sensors worked fine for the first four months. It's great that you're reaching out to the community for feedback. Hopefully, others with similar experiences will chime in. It sounds like a software or sensor calibration issue, especially since it developed later. If you don’t get any helpful responses, it might be worth escalating this issue with the dealership or even reaching out to Genesis customer service for a more in-depth investigation.
